Just to add to this.....I have used Super Vader a decent amt since 2.0 dropped and I can say I have played games that felt 100% like 1.0 Kylo provided I manage my Afterburner, Force Charges, and Shield Boost charges wisely.

Against some of our local players who are, let's say a less competive player and they don't know what to expect?...SN Vader apology is ensuing in 5....4....3.....2.....1. Against the ones who know what's going on, the SN Vaderc death is ensuing in 5...4....oh ****, he's dead.

That's really the trick - finding the best squad mates for Vader. Soontir+Sai at least has potential, maybe even with just 3 barrage bombers.

This really depends.

I feel confident in using Super Vader against anyone. It is good. He can just get trapped.

Id argue Fenn Rau is alot less forgiving but is lifted up by other parts of lists, namely Palob.

Supernatural aces have to make decisions every turn, and if they're right every time the opponent is not invited to play.

Boba and Whisper don't have to make decisions and fall back on 1.0 levels of dice modification, to the point where the opponent is not invited to play.

It's not difficult to see why one is more popular than the other.

Alot seems to do that these days...

Soontir + Sai is what I've been running. If the game is managed well, it can really sing. If not, it can be really sad.

That's what my good local players will do. I mean, I could run all day with Vader, but there's seldom enough in the list to make up for his offensive absence.

I don't disagree, Fenn is fairly predictable. But he also costs 20+ points less.

There are just so many bad spots for Fenn to be. The fact that the "title" can be easily turned off by any ship that doesn't have to fire out of the front makes him go poof. I kited Fenn with my Boba and his rear arc plus the Marauder title makes for a sad Fenn, even at range one.

Any time bumping might actually be preferable to not bumping...man, that's a situation which needs to be looked at.

I wonder if SNR gained 10 points, and Vader pilot went down 10 points, then we'd have an interesting 60 point Vader that maybe you run light a lot more frequently.

I wonder if Whisper or Redline were correctly costed if Vader would become immediately more obvious of a choice as is.

I'd love for people to keep playing him like that...maybe he'll get a points reduction!

Turns out passive dice mods and/or token stacks are pretty good... doubly so when most other ships can't do the same...

Even better when they're cheaper than other, non-stacking/passive alternatives.

Weird.

This feels like a problem that charges not point adjustments can and should solve.

I agree.

Oh and i guess dice mods are about to get even easier to find with Resistance and maybe FO dropping.

I'm waiting for people to argue that he should cost the same as Soontir with a hull upgrade. A 60 point Fenn would make Boba/Palob/Fenn a possibility and that just sounds broken when I just say it.

Make Slave I great again! (wait...maybe not)

Good thing we've got Extended with its WIDE OPEN META to save us.

Its called a System Open for a reason.

That will probably be the default title if Marauder/Han goes up. The fact that it works with the hard turns is delicious.

I'm surprised people haven't flipped out about Sinker from the Republic. Passive rerolls for the rest of your list for simply flying near a medium base on either side? Huh.

Oh, geez. Fenn would feel free at that price point.

It's pretty great, I've been trying it. It just costs more to try to get passive mods back on him, which feels bad in comparison right now.

Flew my first imp squad in a tournament since Regionals last year this past weekend... holy crap Rebels are in a bad place... I've been trying to make them work since 2.0 came out... but I took Vader, Redline, Tomax and drank glue by the bucket.

P.S. Vader is NOT bad. You are bad. Get gud.
