There's no element of surprise! I already know what my opponents are doing with their Whispers, so my own Whisper would be dreadfully boring. With Vader, I never know where I'm going to end up!

unless The Astro adds an Eye result every shot after you spend focus, I don't see any astro being useful on thane.

He's basically an I6 T65 with a near-blank ability, but people take him and load him up.

It could happen, probably more in EPT form, but you never know, or it may never happen at all. Rexlar 1E was pretty much in the same boat (treated as generic Ps 8 ) until X/7 gave him defense, and Intensity let him reposition and have his focus for his ability.
