Am I missing something in the preference it seems to take Braylen over Ten as the named BWing? Ten can use his ability to get rid of his stress while Braylen has to keep it. This leads to Braylen likely getting more quality shots with the focus link to barrel roll to get the rerolls while Ten likely gets more shots overall because his ability opens up his dial further and able to do red maneuvers one turn after another if necessary. I guess when in the selfless mobile platform Braylen is fine, but once that platform breaks apart, Ten seems better for mid-end game.

Braylen has almost always put in more work for me. You can learn to play with that stress beyond turn 1 of combat. If ignored he becomes an even greater threat through mid-end game.

Actual question: I didn’t get to watch much of the Mynock open because reasons, but I wanted to know whether people have tried out the Gunrunner with Electronic Baffles and Deadman’s Switch (mostly aside from the open, which I’ll dig into later since @Rytackle posted the data). It feels really good in the games I’ve played it, and it’s still stupid cheap. Anyone else put this on the table?

It does sound like a fun way to reverse and still tractor.

So with this "Selfless vs Torpedoes" Rebels question...

Why not both?

Garven, Dutch, and an E-Wing, each with Selfless and a Torpedo, potential for three double-mod torp shots on the opening volley.

Eh. Probably too low Init at 4.

It really opens up the dial, plus you can manage your hp as a resource to discourage shots against a given quad jumper.

Not to mention, but it also makes them very reasonable blockers.

Kris Sheriff was running a deadmans quad against me on Saturday. It was pretty scary actually having to keep an eye on where he could deploy it to mess with my life. At one point I tried blowing it up to get splash damage onto his Fenn Rau sacrificing my Sabine...but the stupid thing lived. Quad Jumpers are giving me nightmares after that tournament now.

Add two Blue Squadron Scout U-Wings and call it a day.

I've actually been slotting in two Blue Squadron Escorts with some stuff on Sabine and calling it a day. I find X-Wings have more reliable time on target than the U-Wings

I've thought about it, it virtually guarantees one token and often the token stack. I've been on a Juke kick with her right now.

Fair enough - I just enjoy spinning in place.

What about this:

Jan Ors - Moldy Crow; Trick Shot (55)

Sabine Wren - Trick Shot (39)

Leebo - Magva Yarro - (105)

1 point Bid

Coordinate with Leebo, take bonus Locks as you can with Magva, Jan to pump shots up and take her own solid offense, Sabine pretending to be an ace. Seems solid.

When Chris and Bunn were paired against each other in top 6...

IT'S OUTRAGEOUS

IT'S UNFAIR

I would like to note I had the better list vs. the rest of the top 4, but Bunn bullied me with the bigger bid, therefore this is all his fault.

Another data point re: only a Krayt can beat a Krayt.

Also: REKT

Also: I heard the pairings were rigged by Russians.

Baffle removes stress in the end phase now!

DOH!

Grats on the finish, "random" pairings be damned.

I saw the Kraytest Dad mug on NOVA - I may need one.

Stupid Rules Interaction #35436: the System Phase Coordinate...

I was toying with some Jank last night and it occurred to me that if decloaking and bombing was Too Good To Be Legal, then maybe coordinating a bomb-dropper in the system phase is Amazing.

What you need:

1 Scum Falcon

1 Escape Craft

1 repositionable bomber, probably with prox Mines for insta-damage

Launch craft at low Initiative in the System Phase. It gets an action when it launches. Coordinate a boost/roll, drop bomb with equal or higher Initiative. Profit.

So far, I've just added it to a (probably bad) Boba/Han list, but there are some other options:

  • buncha tugboats with bombs, coordinate one to tractor his friend to get a better drop.
  • Hound's Tooth with a Squad Leader Z docked (did you know you can dock any Z, not just the Pup?) as your coordinator and a bomber that can barrel roll
  • Some Ghost/Sheathipede monstrosity probably with a Y-Wing.
  • Use Emon and Cad Bane for the super-jank "tractor my own bullseye'd Firespray to barrel roll it to fling a prox mine out at a weird angle and then boost" Initiative zero Supernatural Firespray BS.

Leebo wants C3PO - if you can't fit it in, not worth taking Leebo IMO.

green dice never save me... the amount of times I've completely blanked out on an a-wing defending at r3 behind a rock and get 1 shotted is ludicrous.

Float your green dice... Sounds like you might have a couple baddies...

the same exact green dice frustrate my opponents to crying when Jan Ors survives 7 shots from Z95's and Tug boats and doesn't even get scratched!

But the Hyperspace Qualifier (the day 2 event for those that don't make the cut) is using the Hyperspace format (except for System Opens in 2018):

"The Hyperspace Qualifier is a secondary tournament scheduled to begin shortly after the System Open main event moves into Day 2 single elimination play. The event features six Swiss rounds and utilizes the Hyperspace game mode active in the X-Wing squad builder app."

"
NOTE: System Open Series events taking place in 2018, prior to the debut of the Hyperspace Game Mode, will offer "Extended Qualifiers" instead. These will function as Hyperspace Qualifiers, but will use the Extended game mode."
