is this arguably better than braylen? more defense dice, passive defense ability. trade off less shields, more hull.

Am I missing something in the preference it seems to take Braylen over Ten as the named BWing? Ten can use his ability to get rid of his stress while Braylen has to keep it. This leads to Braylen likely getting more quality shots with the focus link to barrel roll to get the rerolls while Ten likely gets more shots overall because his ability opens up his dial further and able to do red maneuvers one turn after another if necessary. I guess when in the selfless mobile platform Braylen is fine, but once that platform breaks apart, Ten seems better for mid-end game.

What I like about Braylen is that he is pretty much the main offensive threat with his ability and also can be tankier than he looks with defensive rerolls.

I like Braylen because he adds more consistency. Defensive rerolls are huge (especially multiple times) and since Ten has to roll an eyeball to use his ability, you aren't going to be able to get rid of the stress every turn.

I was thinking something like this:

Braylen Stramm (50)
Cassian Andor (47)
Selfless (3)
Pivot Wing (0)
Biggs Darklighter (48)
Servomotor S-foils (0)
Blade Squadron Veteran (44)
Selfless (3)

This is true until ten doesn't roll eyeballs, then you are donezo

Ten also needs a way to reliably stress himself (the linked is quite redundant on him)

Braylen has the issue of wanting to koio gran at some point, but has an ability much more reliable and easier to exploit (getting a lock AND taking stress on ten it's harder to setup than just doing focus+red barrel for braylen)

I'm not particularly hot on braylen either, but I think he's generally better than ten

What's good about bwing are the generics, they are way better than generic x-wings

I like the use of Cassian to help Braylen with my issue with him. That 5 pts left can go towards a shield upgrade or Squad Leader on Braylen, or crew on Cassian. Chewbacca crew could help with the lose of shields in comparison to the BWings for using Selfless. Free flipping of a bad crit seems pretty good actually.

Yeah there are some options. Could also go for hull upgrade on a B-Wing plus Jyn on Cassian. What I liked about using Cassian is that it makes your moves a bit more unpredictable. You can stress multiple ships and make your opponent guess at where the stress is being removed from.

See, every one of these lists I see, including my own...man, I don't want to run that.

Yeah, I'm tagged to run Rebels. I'm desperately trying to find something which doesn't make me go home and think, "Well, it was fun hanging out with everyone...too bad playing the game wasn't."

I don't really have a firm grasp on how well the list actually functions in practice though. I guess the idea works pretty well, based on this past weekend, but I feel there are some lists that will just hard counter it...

I'd hate to face the four juke Phantoms with a damage spreading list...

To be fair, most lists have hard counters - you have to win the matchup game too. Really depends on how often you expect to see hard counters in swiss.

I've played Rebels in my last two outings, and had loads of fun. granted I lost every game. but each game was way more fun than any 1.0 game!

The house wins some of my Krayt Coins back (4/9 right ?)

In retrospect, the only wrong answer I don't regret/question my own sanity on is voting against California winning. You came through in the end against the odds California, congrats for that.

When Chris and Bunn were paired against each other in top 6...

I was just saying if competitive Rebel builds (d)evolve into damage-spreading, block flying...that's not an archetype which I find all that interesting to play.

First no one wants to play tower defense, and now no one want's to play whack-a-mole.

What's even left? X-wing?

this is my 5 ship rebel build which I find enjoyable but haven't tested in tournament play yet. It's a lot of fun, very maneuverable, great action economy, and very effective at "building the box" but it's also very very squishy.

Another data point re: only a Krayt can beat a Krayt.

Also: REKT

Also: I heard the pairings were rigged by Russians.

I've played something similar which was "okay", but I think I've landed on Rebels where @pheaver suggested a while ago...I start with this and build from there.

I've been starting with composure sabine and Jyn/Crow Jan Ors. Jan is my lady, I've stuck with her through 1.0, I can't let her down now that she's actually top tier rebel pick.

Actual question: I didn’t get to watch much of the Mynock open because reasons, but I wanted to know whether people have tried out the Gunrunner with Electronic Baffles and Deadman’s Switch (mostly aside from the open, which I’ll dig into later since @Rytackle posted the data). It feels really good in the games I’ve played it, and it’s still stupid cheap. Anyone else put this on the table?
