Liked the content in the last 2. Put Eide on there some time.
Not going to open my kits till tomorrow at my flgs. Going to get wrecked.

I'm getting ready to head out for a week long backpacking trip. I hear you. Burned some wife points setting tomorrow night up but excited for 2.0.

So far I'm stuck with the app being in Italian without apparent means to change it to english.
I have no idea on how anything is called in my native tongue... Give me back X-wing Squad Designer...
I gave a Luke promo today to a guy who shamelessly walked up and showed me his squad in Launch Bay Next.

In case you're not aware, they did do a 2nd Edition version. https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/108260866778071859673

That's a better news than official app being out

Does "FFG App level" replace "dumpster fire" as the new lowest level of terrible?
So got some solid 2.0 in last night. I am pretty sold on Brobots, especially since I have so many builds to play with. The hightlight of 2.0 is actual consequences. There were a few times where someone had to make a real decision on doing a BR/Boost or a TL failed. Also I felt like I could actually kill ships.
I know it hasn’t been a secret but man are phantoms fun! And pretty good
so question, is anyone brave enough to just say screw it I know I won’t out bid everyone and do I need to move last to win, because I have been having a lot of fun with variations of this
| Rexler Brath — TIE Defender | 84 |
| Juke | 4 |
| Advanced Sensors | 8 |
| Heavy Laser Cannon | 4 |
| Ship Total: 100 | |
| "Whisper" — TIE Phantom | 52 |
| Juke | 4 |
| Ship Total: 56 | |
| Imdaar Test Pilot — TIE Phantom | 44 |
| Ship Total: 44 | |
|
You can of course take hlc off and run duchess or sabacc with June instead of the generic phantom but basically you get what it’s going for...but back to my point of if I can boost k turn and double decloak....do I believe you can actually dodge everything even if you move after me? |

I fear defenders, especially juke ones, don't like adv. Sensor since using it makes them unable to grab the evade from the speed 3+manouver.
Having said that, the core of my current imperial list is juke rexler and juke whisper and I loved it so far.
I'm still unsure on what to pair them with thougt. Soontir proved to be a bit lackluster, but it might be needed at least to keep other ps6 on their toes (although with just 3-4 points bid it might not be enough), but I'm seriously considering duchess and put hull upgrade or adv. Sensor on whisper.
Bullseye stuff so far seemed incredibly bad. I would only consider crackshot and only in ps5+ ships.

Fair, but what if you're using those sensors to avoid rolling green dice in the first place? I just straight up fear Defenders. It's going to be rough trying to track them down and get shots through.

I'm looking forward to this time of discovery. I'm rather sad there's no major events around here to take advantage of those players who got super used to card combos and have forgotten how to fly. I should see if I can make the PTL Open...

Well although in most cases yes bullseye isn’t great, I think on a defender might be the exception, especially with advanced sensors to augment the direction on that bullseye
That being said you should not focus on getting bullseye, just let your opponent worry about it and reposition day stead of token up, so you can still lay in the heat, and that being said it’s why juke is so good, they reposition out of bullseye, maybe they aren’t out of arc or in whispers and without a focus, so then juke helps keep the pressure
of course that being said... it is super optional and may not be the best use of 4 points in the list, I’m just giving it a try
As for whisper and rexler with juke in a list together, it’s magic! Honestly whisper has been like my favorite imperial ship for the points lately, but as for a 3rd wheel it’s pretty up in the air
fel is pretty great for the points and a little more forgiving then duchess since he is a 6 that can token up a little better, duchess has to arc dodge, fel does too, but with focus evade he can probably survive one shot pretty ok, and no matter what size bid you will be above most ships at 6
i went with the generic phantom(not saying it’s the best) because it seems better then a striker for the points overall, it basically can token stack every turn, with the extra hp and is even more difficult to nail down because it simply doesn’t move like any other ship in the game, and allowed me to go overboard with rexler, which as I said was just something to try out but can be stripped back for a better set up if I can’t optimize that bullseye enough

Trust me, it's still amazing. Even if the odd turn you don't get an evade because you have to pre-boost to arc dodge and get shots on their list with nothing in return rather than being blocked, getting no shots or tokens and getting shot at tons, you still somehow feel good about it ![]()
Also note that there's nothing that prevents you from taking an evade action to turn on Juke/Rexlar before bumping or similar, something I've done several times.

I've played with a few options - Duchess is solid although that pretty much makes her a flanker. Can run her naked or with a bomb or fifth bro or similar, lots of good options. I've run OS-1 Vynder w/ homings + APTs + adv SLAM + FCS. He's not the end-game threat that the others are but you can be pretty aggressive with him as a flanker since he can both move quickly and take quite a few shots and get out even if they turn in on him. If they ignore him he can punish with reloadable APTs pretty effectively. It just depends how cagey you like to play your flanker.
If you're worried about swarms punishers w/ traj simulator + bombs are good options to shore up the other weaknesses of the squad. You can just fit traj sim proton redline along with Juke rexlar and whisper although the 4 point bid is a bit low for i5's so it might be better to take a generic punisher instead and throw some crew (or adv sensors) on whisper or something instead.
You guys brought a very valid point on taking adv.sens on rexler. I'm still very uncomfortable on planning a turn without ending up with some form of dice modification, but an unmodded shot without retaliation sometimes might be not the end of the world.
On soontir I feel like he's quite overpriced right now. His ability is very unreliable (but this might just be inexperience with aces with bullseye, I don't know). You are just paying for an extremely squishy ps 6 pilot (which might be enough as he might act as a scarecrow for lower ps aces thought)
He really wants coordinate and/or afterburner to shine, but then he becomes the centerpiece of a list and I'm not sure it's worth it.
Obviously take my opinion with more than a grain of salt: it's not like i have done that many 2.0 games

The PTL Open was a blast last year, I recommend trying to go! The 400km ride was not in the cards this year, between work and school for the kid, it's just not working out.
In other news, 401Games had an insert in our X-wing preorder noting the decks were not in, but they shipped anyways and will ship the decks later, so yay! My son also jumped on the new builder (raithos.github.io is the new builder, right?
) to make new imperial lists and said we needed an imperial conversion kit, so we're almost there with getting him to play again!

Hmm that begs the question, which ship models will float? For science.

Well, I can't disagree. My opinion is of course tainted by previous experiences and fear of that fragility. Fel is going to need to be flown VERY differently since he no longer has that invincibility to him... One wrong move... I like the change, and while Fel shouldn't be dirt cheap, we'll see if his points hold up.
Actually... a curious question would be "would Duncan still fly Fel?"

Yeah, I have no reason to complain about a trip to the other side of Toronto when compared to a 400km run. I'll check with the wife tonight.
Good to hear that things are starting to brighten over there. Seriously, the 2.0 looks worth the try, though hopefully you guys can find a less demoralizing place to play. Kitchen table does work fine though!
