Carolina Krayts is the best X-Wing podcast

Also, at the risk of sounding like an ***, is it possible you guys have been swimming in OP 1.0 stuff so long you don't know how to approach a squad that's not the best at at least two things?

I mean, yes, it's absolutely possible.

But it's not like we're not list building in 2.0, and our lists have weaknesses.

Even then - we're ALL so new to 2.0, and now that FFG won't confirm re-releases only, we all have to try and digest a OVERWHELMING amount of new pilots, ship changes, and upgrades. We will probably all miss the 'best stuff' for awhile (if it exists).

I mean, of course your lists have weaknesses. They can't be the best at everything.

At the seminar at NOVA, Alex said that there would be a path to Worlds for rerelease only players. There's going to be a decent mix of rerelease only and Legacy events.

You’re not alone. I’m there, giggling about comparisons in a vacuum and assumptions about our collective stupidity.

I want that to be true. I just suspect they're afraid to tell people "don't worry about those conversion kits we sold you" even though they should, and a re-release only format does not diminish the value of conversion kits in the least.

I have been, they're pretty darn cool.

Both the base change and the pivot wing change has made them so much better. I want to fly the two tubes combo, though I think that 68 points for U-Tubes bro seems high since I feel like you really want advanced sensors on the U-Wings Perceptive Co-Pilot works really well with U-Tubes' ability.

Exactly. No one I know who I respect wants Wedge to carry the squad. He's absolutely an Omega Leader type element. He's a backstop against those very maneuverable I5 ships. The rest of your squad sets the table. The ace can maneuver around them, spending its resources to avoid those shots, then it has to hope that it also avoided Wedge's arc. His I6 is much more about Initiative kills and information denial than it is for responsiveness.

Yeah, it’s a pretty cool support ship now. I looked at Tubes-Squared and couldn’t justify the expense. I really only like the generics with illicits. I have been playing around with the named ones for funsies, but I think they’re too expensive.

Next episode - “Listener, U-Wings are bad.”

I think that's certainly a possibility. 1.0 trained us, whether we consciously think so or not, to gravitate to a certain amount of dice certainty and matchup-wing that probably doesn't translate well to 2.0

Cassian and Heff maybe worth some usage as well - Cassian if 0-0-0 (and other stress control) becomes a real thing and Heff if you are looking to use the U-Wing as a blocker. Being able to jam up a lane and turn in place feels like it could be strong. If there was a way to turn in place and drop a cargo chute on the generics, I would be tempted to just run 4 of those.

True, Heff with coordinate might be able to do something interesting as a support ship.

I agree.

Scum list building is so much fun.

How did you find supernatural Luke? I'll probably playing 3 generic x-wing + Luke but I'm not sure if I'd rather have the Xs at ps3 and r2 droid on Luke rather than supernatural.

Has supernatural proved to be decisive on your games so far?

Supernatural Reflexes is a meta-defining card, and basically stapled to every named pilot with a force slot.

To elaborate further - what if more ships were basically 1.0 kylo, but also a little better (as you can take actions post dial too).

Since not all of the ships have boost AND Barrel Roll, it's not exactly that simple, but it's not far off.

Supernatural Reflexes should get the luke gunner treatment, and probably be 30+ points.

Without PTL around, is doing a barrel before moving really that important? I can really see it shining on Vader since he can still spam actions (and also choose to do a boost rather than a barrel)

EDIT: wait I didn't realize supernatural wasn't sucking up your action, this make it sensibly better than I thought. But it's still more vader's stapled than Luke's imo

1) yes (diminishes blocks)

2) Yes, makes your post-dial location EXCEEDINGLY squirrel-ly (look at the combination of doing a pre-dial BR or boost, and end locations)

Also, Grand Inquisitor can linked focus off a BR, giving him 3 actions per turn (leaving a post-dial boost available). Luke can have foils closed, supernatural boost, open foils (can't close AND open, must start closed), and then do a manuver without taking the damage.

Basically, these ships can dial in generic maneuvers, wait to see what your ships did (high initiative), then take the appropriate boost or BR to avoid arcs and, likely, maintain theirs.

I agree about Supernatural Reflexes. Do you think Vader merits a drop in price if they do? Is he good enough at 70 without access to SNR? I've never played against him without it, so it's hard for me to say.

Edit: interesting maybe side effect of crazy expensive SNR is a non-ironic PS7 force talent. It's cheap, and it makes a non-SNR Vader have huge room for a bid advantage vs SNR, so he would move after and get chances at an Initiative kill.
