Carolina Krayts is the best X-Wing podcast

As much a pain as Kylo was I have to wonder how bad he will be now. There's no autothrusters, actions are harder to chain... Still has advanced sensors and a pretty high initiative providing plenty of game state info. He will also have force tokens... How much is the ship going to cost? When the best players use it, will it remain nigh uncatchable?

I honestly don't know, so don't read this as me dismissing Kylo as a threat. I fully recognize there are enough warning signs that he may rise again.

His movement map got even better, since you're now boosting or rolling (or both or neither), the moving and still doing actions which includes boost and roll again.

If he was "pick him up and put him wheverever you want" before, the new one does that too, but you likely don't even have to do any planning on dial setting at all, where before you had to choose something at least a little reasonable...

What if I told you he still had advanced sensors (supernatural reflexes), and could use the chassis autothrusters to do a 2nd reposition (if he wants), then move, then still do an action.

Basically, nearly the same (you aren't shooting him), and he can do actions after his advanced sensors now.

I'm already mentally preparing myself to move after him with Poe and still not have a shot...for, like, the whole game.

Wow! I didn't realize it, but I've been a First Order fan the whole time! That black and white paint scheme, it just draws the eye in. Purely the aesthetics for me.

Yeah... I saw most of that... was really hoping not to see enough pieces to form that worrisome piece... but would rather know than fly blindly against Kylo.

Oh, you think your higher initiative is your ally...

10/10

also I'm pretty sure I'll be a first order player because of kylo, at least being angry and loud all the time is thematic for us

I probably still won't convert my FO faction to 2.0... I think with plenty of fire arcs and a good net I should be able to catch most players being bad with Kylo... I don't imagine I'll much enjoy my 'choices' when I face somebody that actually knows what they're doing with him though.

Need to start anti-whatevertheheckKylois tactical simulations... I think most of it involves fortressing and 'accidentally' dropping my dials a lot to kill time.

First Order will probably be: Kylo + OL + Whatever points you want to throw at more stuff.

Help me, theoretical reposition ability 2.0 BB-8, you're my only hope.

That sounds really fun to fly...I think I already have (copyrighted) alt arts in the works.

Those points are just a bid, right?

am I the only one here who was actually in on FO, not for Kylo and Midnight, but generic TIE/FO lists?

6 FO with AO seems really cool.

Or a bunch of SFs.

Necromancy here, but the reason I’m doubting re-release only format is that first order will have just one ship when wave 2 hits, and resistance will only have two round about January.

Also, the counter to supernatural feels like non-dice based ion. Something that self ions with static discharge vanes can instantly assign an ion token to any ship at range one. I think they can still supernatural, but at least it is only a one straight afterwards?

Based on my interpretation of the cards, they can still Supernatural. I would almost expect for SR to be changed to "when you reveal your dial" because I think that ion is an interesting and thematic counter to SR.

I'm not sure that's true - they basically just showed the new stuff (flappy wings and an a-wing).

Again, if it IS rerelease, sucks to be not the primary 3 factions.

I don't follow. If it's not re-release only, then it's one FO ship vs 20+ scum, rebel, imperial. That's....not...better....?

We don't know that the announced stuff is the only stuff in wave 2.

I mean it probably is, but there's likely another core set coming at the very least as well

If it's not release only, isn't it 4 FO ships versus the 20 the other factions have? I think I remember from dev comments that while F/O and Res will have less ships, they are going to have more options for those ships. That way you can still build a variety of squads with only having a few different ship types. Probably one of the reasons why the T-70 has a weapons hardpoint added.

I'm eagerly awaiting info on FOs.

so, they balance the new factions to compete with 20+ ships per primary faction... then add new ships...

...sure, no problems in the future there! ?

But muh point and slot adjustments!

Honestly, it's an option, but if the plan is to give the ships a ton of slots and cheap upgrade/pilots so they can compete now, that means every time new stuff for resistance comes out, the faction is basically losing slots and going up in points to re-balance?

Talk about legitimate feelsbadman

In this case, it’s a lot like (literal) violence. It’s not a great solution, and often it’s a terrible solution, but in the short-term view it’s almost always an actual solution.
