Advanced Sensors just adds to it. With Whisper I was able to go from in front of a few ships to behind them in one turn without doing any red moves. One of the things that is bumming me out about some of the initial events being Wave 1 is that what I want to fly for Imperials are not in Wave 1.

So much to like about 2.0 Phantoms...
Probably my favorite thing about them is that it feels entirely reasonable to sometimes use them aggressively now since even Whisper can legitimately be basically 25% of your list.

Since you can only get six homing Missiles, shouldn’t one be on Cracken and five Bandits, and then you can fit Blount? I realize it’s not an Ocho but a septa at that point.

You could do that. Like I said above though, I actually think Z primaries are pretty great.
Which means you can do 7 + something else too...
Just as some examples...
Or 6 Z's and then you have a TON of other options.

Scum Z's are worse than Rebels IMO because you're paying for an Illicit slot you don't need on both and paying for an initiative you don't need on the Black Sun Soldiers.
Drea is great though. I've heard talk about Drea and three Lok Revenants, and that sounds disgusting
What does the Ocho if any stripe offer over standard Howl Swarm?
1.) An extra body. This makes up for not having Iden and then some.
2.) No formation restriction. This makes up a tiny bit for the loss of Howl.
3.) Spare points. 8 Academies or Bandits leave 16 points. Somehow that has to make up for Howl's insane efficiency increase. Missiles seem like a pretty solid option there for Zs. TIE Fighters end up in a weird spot. The best I've though of so far is 4 Black Squadrons with Ruthless and 4 Academies. There are probably better options.
What about Del Meeko? Swarm-based squad buff that fits into an ocho

Possibly missile to protect joust, although I think a turret should never be jousting. Trick them into coming at you, then proceed to run laps.

Yes, but the ability to turn on someone behind you is simple, while someone in front can jam up a formation and prevent you from modding / moving / rotating.
