I'm not sure if I've ever been in need of any Krayt'ing.

You always need more Krayt. If you didn't want more Krayt, why are you in this thread?

This echo chamber is less bad than most of the rest of the forums?

Echo chamber? Echo chamber? Echo chamber? Echo chamber?

So far, it's looking like a cluster**** of "which ships are most improved in 2.0." One guy asked me to borrow a Falcon for his 6-shots-a-turn triple ORS list, another guy is running triple 2400. I'm running Vessery-Ryad-Vader. I should give a prize to whoever squeezes the most 2.0 points into their list.
end of night review:
2-0 lists: Lone Wolf Vader/TrickShotVessery/TrickShotRyad, and a triple ORS list with Bistan, Han, and Ezra "crew" for a potential 6 shots a turn.
1-1 lists: triple recspec* Wild Space Fringer, another six-shot triple ORS, a Nym/Sixxa with Trajectory/Bomblet/R2 on Nym, Dash/Lando, Han/Wedge
*recspec is Perceptive Co-Pilot. I ruled that if the card exists in 2.0 but just has a name change, you can take it.
there were a couple of other lists, but i didn't see them. People loved those discount pancakes! I will be instituting a 12-point tax on ships that have a higher primary-weapon value on their 2.0 card than their 1.0 card and we will do it again in a week or two.
4K-evade-boost is dumb, especially against stupid PS1 turrets with giant blind spots. I had so much fun with Vader and 2 defenders. I only built the list after two different people had asked to borrow a total of three pancakes. No way does all that fit in a 2.0 list, obviously.
all of this will hopefully be moot next week(?) if that app or pdf launches with Gen Con.

Vader double defender in 2.0 sounds perfect. Ill buy that for 300 pts please.
A friend of mine is coming to Gencon for work and he's considering bringing his ships with him hoping to have the time to play, but he can't find any info about the 1.0 tournment.
I thought the NA championship or the USA nationals were going to be played there, did I get it wrong?

You are correct, the NA champs is there, starting Friday. I think it’s sold out but if he stands in line with generic tickets he should get in

Edited by LagJansonWell, did some of my GenCon prep, clean up and packing of Xwing stuff. All that's left is to bubble wrap a Death Star. Do you have any idea how much it costs to bubble wrap a Death Star?!
Oh, and clothes. People would prefer that clean clothes are worn each day.

If you want a literal echo chamber listen to episode one. Courtesy of my speakers.
So pumped for Gencon.
My apologies for doubting you, @Brunas. We got some Luke/Dutch vs. Vader/Obsidian games in tonight. It took me until the 4th reset before I started to figure out how to even begin making it a fair game. Getting arc dodged by Vader with full mods and a 4k behind both of my ships felt pretty bad. Also, holy crap, those crits are going to induce so much rage. I lost Dutch once from full health, lol!

Han, Scum Fenn, Wedge, and other I6 ships sporting a bid might be pretty key for dealing with Vader. Though the best option is probably just casting a wide net with more ships?
I expect to see alot of specific bids happening based on whatever Vaders doing at any given time in FFGs point re-alignments.

Haha, that sounds about right.
And no, it's good to doubt! Now you see just how and why it's crazy instead of just mindlessly repeating it because someone else said it.

Yeah, we talked a little about other I6 with a bid for full lists. For this format, though...****, it has me considering going Empire.

Raises a question. What ships in 2.0 are people looking forward to seriously practicing with? Whats your Git Gud list basically?
My interest level in Rebels will be almost entirely dependent on how good A-Wings and B-Wings are. For me those are the 2 ships that offer the most fun factor outside of X-Wings and that I have the most attachment to ( mainly because they look cool and the A-Wing is my absolute favorite ship in all of Star Wars ).
If those two ships are competitive I will spend time practicing Rebels. If not...it will just be all Empire and Scum all the time for me. I really get bored very quickly with lists that require "synergy" where 1 ship depends to heavily on another ship to be useful. Still prefer smaller forward arc ships that can stand on their own for the most part or are enhanced by a support ship rather than 100% dependent on it. Though Min-Swarms do look pretty exciting in their own way, I dont see an equivalent in the Rebel faction on paper yet. I also have gotten almost immediately disinterested in Lancer style ships. Just feels like it devolves into hard turns and running laps to quickly even for the YT1300. Don't confuse this for a new form of turret hate its not that. Its totally cool if people like them and I might end up enjoying the Falcon. I have so far enjoyed playing against them in proxy games and can see the appeal. Its just that rotating an arc and strafing runs don't get me anywhere near as hyped as lining up a bullseye shot with a couple A-Wings, X-Wings, and B-Wings moving out of formation.

I want B-wings and A-Wings to be good (even decent) so badly...
Edit: Oh, and jesus, if FFG makes moveable/fold-able b-wings...
Edited by Tlfj200If we are talking about everything, probably the YT-2400 just because it is my favorite ship. However I have to throw in Arvel in an A-Wing because he looks super fun. Of course, I am most excited about flying a U-Wing in 2.0 because with the medium base and title timing change I think it has gotten the biggest overhaul in how it plays.
Honestly, I am looking forward to playing every ship that has gotten significant changes in 2.0 (i.e. HWK290). Or even TIE Fighters because of all of the new pilot abilities. Heck - I want to play it all.

Man, I don't even know.
We still don't really know how OP kit events will be handled, much less larger events. From what it looks like, they're going to encourage people to use the most recently released waves, which could lead to a ton of flux in what I'd want to fly. The days of someone being an archetype player, like a Palp Aces player, might be in the past because players will be steered toward using ships/upgrades outside of a given archetype.
In general, I've become a big fan of efficiency, speed and maneuverability. That's going to have me leaning towards A-Wings, E-Wings and X-Wings.

„Palp“ Aces, Swarm+Ace, miniswarm.
I also vehemently agree on A-wings! I can see a HeavyAce/PocketAce/Support list if I find one, where the pocketace is an awing. Otherwise I will mainly play empire. I am just not interested in Pancakes, Uwings, Auzitucks or Kwings, and that ruled out most lists so far. Essentially I want an empire-esque Rebel list.
