I forgot to log my run yesterday on strava... my body hurts, blame the Krayts. I haven't done much for exercise in around 3-4 years and in the last 4-5 days I've been going pretty hard. I can hardly move today...

They got removed at some point before I started playing, no idea why

Bro you should start lifting. We can compare gains at the crossroads tournament

during the summer (granted not much this summer...as I lost my passion over the winter) I do a lot of wedding photography. I lug around 10kg of camera gear for 10-12 hours every weekend. I have no want to even think of lifting. especially since my main is about 9lbs held to my face constantly for 2-3 hours, and trying to keep it steady and stable. I'm more for the long haul lift than max weight :)

to avoid off topic derailment...

Guri/Fenn for sure - I feel like there is a better way to build Torkil. If you are going for K4, would Sync'd Turrent be better? Or drop K4 and go for TLT.

torkils ability is range 1-2. was looking to synergize with that ability as I won't wanna be at R3 often.

Dengar is probably the better crew choice overall. still gives me mods if I get jammed.

Yeah that's why I was thinking Synced Turrent if you are going with K4. I agree that Dengar is better in your setup and probably overall correct. It shows how stupid TLT that it still feels like the best choice even though it conflicts with your pilot ability.

it is really dumb that having at least one ship TLT is almost a necessity in this stupid game. Even if all it does is strip tokens (how I use it on Jan Ors) it's served a very solid purpose.

Now that I think of it, it sort of does synergize in a weird way. It makes every range a bad range for your opponent to be at and with Torkil at PS3 he will have a hard time making sure he gets in close.

No, don't you remember Poland's ghost with synced turret? It definitely wasn't that the list is stupidly powerful enough that you can bring worse versions of it and do fine...

Yeah that was a few nights of craziness and caffeine ;) Given the complexity of it definitely ping me if you notice anything you don't expect! Can gain some insight into when it is being used using the "how to modify..." forms.

That Polish Synced Ghost should have probably been running Dorsal turret if they were going to be at R1 that often.

I made my Lothal/Zeb/Fenn list even worse.

I dunno, there is something really funny to me about having Enhanced Scopes on Hera.

okay, if this wins a game then either the opfor is incredibly bad or... nope, just bad

Here I tried for it to make sense at least... but still bad. even used the right turret... should swap that out with Blaster

Actual answer, its because there are alot of Imperial players who didnt use Palpatine in 1.0 because they think its hard.

I play imperials mostly, for a handful of reasons that I’ll share:

This game was sold to me as a game with firing arcs, and I never let that go.

Playing turrets just doesn’t feel fun... there’s definitely a skill to it, but it’s not what I consider to be an enjoyable game.

I never picked up Palp because it wasn’t worth it to buy when there are so few tournaments in my area. Only made it to one last year. Went to the Michigan regional this year hoping to go 3-3 or better (success, went 3-3 with only gunboats).

I prefer games where one side is completely wiped out and not just running to time. (This is probably an artifact of not needing most games to be timed, since few are tournament matches.)

Edit: I would rather play casual games on hard mode than play for an hour with neither side losing a ship. Related, Assajj can die in a (metaphorical, plastic) fire, as can R2-D2 and Miranda.

That being said, some of the things that people say on the forums are mind-bogglingly dumb. I start from the assumption that we’re all operating in good faith, probably on incomplete information, but I find some of the posts inconceivable. I won’t call anyone out directly, but people need to calm the eff down. Wait until next month when we maybe see the app to start hyperventilating and having ‘PANIC!!!’ attacks.

Having played many matches that went an hour or more before something dies... it makes a difference if both sides are still actively trying to kill each other. I can name two games I’ve had this scenario play out and were still among the most fun and challenging games I’ve played. These were all maneuvering, sacrificing shots for positioning, until somebody makes too many mistakes.

The Imperials strength is that it has by far the most amount of aces and cost efficient ships (though the new X-wings maybe the king now). I would say that Nym with his bomb throwing is the only thing really hurting the faction. SLAM Bombing did too, but thankfully that was nerfed. What I love about playing imperials is that you can slot in so many different ships into different archetypes and be really creative with your list building. Rebels are pretty much pick one or more of Sheathipede/Miranda/Low and one forward to victory.

Sure, and I had this experience at the MI regional. It happens, but I’m not convinced this is the default experience.

Oh, agreed. Most of the time an hour passes without losing a ship means either the players are circling the map or fortressed in the corners.

This is why I generally play jousting lists. If they want to fortress, I can bring the pain to them.
