I think that Brunas's point that even in Europe AS Nym saw more success- Nym worked best if he never had to properly engage, and AS plays better to that than AC does. Also, the telling of Chumby to git gud was the salty cherry on top- you are aware he's the System Open invite champion, right?

On the AC nyms - I see them, but they're wrong. AC Nym was only really arguable with Dengar, but in all other cases AS is a straight up improvement. You can even see it in the french national: half the nyms have AS, half AC in the top 16, half AS. Same for Belguim actually.

And the other main thing is, we had plenty of accuracy corrector nyms at Nova too - they just didn't perform to the end. As far as I know it's the only complete dataset of it's type since an early worlds, so it's very eye opening in what people actually play (thanks again @Antigrapist), though I'll have to go dive through to see what the exact performances were.

edit: just checked, 9 AS v 2 AC in the top 64, vs 30 AS 15 AC that showed up to the event in total. So, pretty conclusively that (for that event) AS was the correct choice.

I probably undervalued Nym, I don't remember exactly what I was playing back then (probably Boba Asaji or some kind of rebel jank) but I never perceived him as a such a huge threat. They weren't half of the top of those tourneys I linked thought, but you have more than compelling evidence about the nova open thought

No offense taken, I'm on the net since 56K modems were making impossibile to use the phone if you were connected, it needs to get way uglier to impress me.

And yeah, I know that Chumby won a regional sized SoS, but I thought it was Zach Bunn who won the for fun invite only event. Since he post just gif, funny one liners and complaints about 1.0 things, I found appropriate to steal one of the Krayts signature catch phrase.

Also, while Brunas pointed out that AS Nym wasn't completly absent as I thought, it was still AC nym who saw more success in Europe

Maybe, it's kinda late to have anything confirmed now. It definitely was better with AS for the NA meta

AS Nym is a Nym that often shooted without modifications and relied on bombs randomness to seal the deal (bomblet dice or crits drawing) while also costing a huge amount of points while not having defense mitigation nor regen on a rather frail chassis (though these things are shared by both versions)

Seriously @sirjorj this site is great, I know its a work in progress but makes it so much easier to browse 2.0 cards.

I don't really care at all about 1.0 Nym anymore. So what are general opinions on the 2.0 Scrugg?

Original 1.0 genius logic would look a little like this? That red barrel roll restricts alot though Expert Handling can make it white.

Makes this and Deathfire one of the few bombers that can drop bombs outside of the system phase. Up Up Up? Or no big deal?

As far as turrets the Scrugg looks to be able to set up a 180 arc equivalent like the Hwk-290 can with a 90 degree rotating turret equipped. Will Nym still be able to fly a kite?

Or without a full 360 turret to lean on will the scrugg go even more towards being used as a missile platform?

When it was originally spoiled I was hyped about the Scrugg because I thought it would be a kind of Scum B-Wing with a few more bombs.

Trajectory + Missile isn't exactly bad in 2.0 either but certainly will be more difficult to line up than it is currently.

I am also working on outputting the main lists as json so other projects could digest it, so that option should be coming soon.

And yes, it is all a work in progress. I have some ideas to lay out the data a bit better. I just need the time to make it happen.

I think that Scurrgs (or at least Nym) and Deathfire are going to be the go to ships for bombing because of how powerful it will be to bomb outside of the system phase. It's ironic that Rebels will be the weakest bombing faction.

Bomb faction power level should probably be Empire, Rebel, Scum.

I think this is paramount. There is still a lot we don't know and that will be very fluid in the design space the developers have created. I'm pretty excited about that. I'm also trying to reserve theory crafting too hard until I know point costs and slots.

As far as I know we are still missing:

• point costs
• upgrade slots
• unknown rules that may create additional restrictions
• unknown rules which may change strategies
• tournament structure

A lot of this is putting my purchases in a bit of a strange state of limbo. I've only pre-ordered the Rebel kit and core. I bought Saws (haven't even touched the baggie of 2.0 stuff) and I haven't grabbed a Reaper. I'm torn about grabbing a Reaper as I don't know how much Imperial I will fly out of the gate, but they are always a ton of fun... Chances are I'll just buy everything because reasons.

I still have a solid list of "never flown" in 1.0 tho..
