We dont need points to at least identify strong mechanics. No one here is claiming to have it all figured out. Its largely about general combo and archetype identification at this early stage I think.

Firesprays have always been great (to look at).

When I was seriously burned out on x-wing last year but my son wanted to go to a store champ anyways, Kath came with me (along with Ketsu, because 2 Firesprays, eh, I like to win too). She surprised me and got herself a plaque by going balls out against OL, natties and well timed crits are the best strategy!

I need to finish her paint job one day...

Yeah for sure getting the Scum Expansion just to play 0-0-0 and BT-1 with Vader. Going for maximum theme.

So @Brunas I think that formation flying has different meaning for different people. For example, I think of any time in which my ships are all acting in a manner where they want to maintain a position based on the other ships as a formation (see getting my opponent to chase one ship while another one gets behind them.) For example, the three gunboat net was a formation, and flying rebel ships in a similar manner would be as well. that said, it isn't a very useful definition.

@Boom Owl have you looked at where duchess can go with JJ and still get an action? Its beautiful.

I think that collision detector got buffed: pretty much lets anyone with a system slot be Dash for two turns.

I agree. Also it seems like nobody proofread either Graz or Talonbane:

could just be

and

Very possible this is future proofing. In general, what seems like word bloat now can turn into rules clarity down the line - what second edition is all about. In fact, Talonbane should probably have slightly more phrasing to be in line with Graz.

JJ is nuts in general, because every ship can boost but with most strikers I'm not so sure. Turning off Alerions doesn't seem worth it, but with duchesses ability to alerion while stressed, she can move farther than range 3 in one turn and end unstressed.

I don't think its that bad without the ability to assign a stress as easily. It punishes linked action aces, but isn't super powerful if your opponent doesn't stress themselves (as ways to reliably distribute stress seem less common now). Plus, with adjustable point cost she can up in cost on ships that can distribute stress better.

New idea: What combos do you think should / won't be legal within certain factions? For example, I am about 60% confident that Howl + Iden will not be able to fit 5 more Ties (Even academies). More likely, those two will be in the 38-44 point range each (as they each add to a swarm to a degree similar to an additional tie fighter).

Furthermore, has anyone seen any official talk on how fluid the app pricing will be (and not update schedule), like we know upgrades can cost different prices based on chassis, but can pilots cost different amounts based on what other ships are in the list? Is that something we want? I know I do, simply because it allows the designers to limit certain combos to a hilarious degree (Imagine is lowrick cost double if biggs was in the list in 1.0 for example, or vice versa), but is the limit imposed on mental theory crafting worth it? Would the PDF be non-viable? Should the pdf exist? At what point to we give up and play a video game?

Like the change to the evade token she only changes a die to an evade, not adds one. It's subtle but it makes a huge difference. Asajj went from being able to full dodge 4 hits to a max of 2.

Have we had actual confirmation of this? I know it's been discussed as a possibility but I hadn't heard anything official. I'm fine with to a certain degree conceptually as long as it's in broad strokes. 1.0 EU for example should really have cost more for large bases. But not so much if taken to the extreme where individual pilots start paying more and certainly not pilot cost varying in response to other pilots. A bridge way too far.

“Range” and “attack range” can be different in 1.0 at some angles. It’s currently possible to proc Fenn Rau and Concord Dawn protector on Range 2 attacks, if there’s an out-of-arc part of Fenn at range 1. Looks like actual cleanup to me.
