I need to watch this. The screen still leaves me the question... What was Brandon doing?! I'm guessing Nathan ranged controlled well enough to deny harpoons?

Will watch later to see what happened.

Correct. Nathan used perfect range and arc control.

Nathan goes undefeated over three days of x wing, and confirms that everyone in California is just bad at X wing?

I tuned in for the end. I did well with a minor variation of Brandon's list but clearly flew it differently and not as well. I guess I gave up on it too soon.

Nathan's move and coordination for the kill on Wedge was huge.

I don't think you gave up too soon - that list, if it's good, is only good in a comically narrow meta involving 100 point aces stacking behind low etc.

Also, west coast easiest coast, git gud, we send one krayt and he drops 0 games etc

It had surprising legs though. Took a Ghost out with guns only in two turns since my opponent tried to range control me from out of range to bump... And failed the bump part of his plan. Chased down a Kylo or two as well.

It was pre-adjusted trajectory sim bombs from Nym that did me in - and the terrible decisions I made against them.

Edit: Oh, and Krayts on top

Each with their own horror at the other end waiting to see who they catch.

The issue was you didnt play against the worst coast.

God our games of second edition are hard. My brain hurts.

Apocalypse was ****

Does anyone else here think ‚green maneuver‘ when you hear/read ‚blue maneuver‘?

same with PS - I think it will take me some time to say and think Initiative when I talk about PilotSkill

The part about 2.0 that has me both most excited and anxious is how much can(or has to) be relearned and how many principles stay the same. For example, more mods beat more dice or fat defensive ships are strong, and similar things will probably remain?

How many of these old truisms do you guys expect to remain true?

With the dice staying the same the math should largely stay the same.

And, as a wise man once said (I’m paraphrasing) offense sells spaceships, defense wins championships.

I'm pretty curious about this, too. The designers have talked a lot about the points premium for both Force users and I6 pilots. I'm wondering if this is sokething like a 3-4 point tax (because developers are lazy and want to push the movie characters) or a 12-15 point tax. The magnitude of this premium is going to be the difference between "more points in upgrades" and "more bodies".

Im still willing to bet (based on nothing but thoughts & feelings) that you will be able fit Vader, Grand Inquisitor, and Soontir in a 200 pt squad without ordinance or to many mods etc.

That might not even be broken, if the number of ancillary upgrades are minor enough. I could see a 100 point Vader fully decked, and I could see a 70 point Vader pretty stripped down.

Yea i think Vader will be 60 pts before any upgrades are equipped. Soontir & Inquisitor probably in the 50-55 range.

Which would be almost like 1.0 with Vader at 29, Soontir at 27 and Inq at 25

I think Vader will start a bit more expensive due to the force and ATC now built in (say, 65), but I agree on the others

Vader going up only a point when gaining force powers seems very unlikely imo

Probably right, the native force modification is insane. Its like everyone with it is just Poe now and thats before you consider Vaders multiple actions regardless of stress or bumps...

So thinking?

Vader: 65

Soontir: 55

Inquisitor: 50

And Vader has 3 force

Thinking through a scenario:

  • turn 1 he does focus+tl, keeps the tl, uses his force to mosify once, and the focus another time. One offensively, one defensively, depending on where you roll more than one eyeball. Also interesting to see how you really want to spend the focus first to keep force, but clearly you want to spend force first if you roll only one focus. That‘s a cool little decision point right there.
  • turn 2 onwards he just does a focus action and uses force to modify.
  • If necessary, reset the TL or roll around, but that won‘t happen always

I asked this in our local group: will supernatural be over, under, or exactly 10 points (out of 200)?
