Tabletop.to is where it's at. It even has a streaming overlay built in.
That being said, I'm free from having to run tournaments now!

Also, inb4 you know who makes a better version of the app and tome

No, it was an Arvel Crynyd linked boost bump.

Man every ship i tried to make in 1.0 before i discovered whisper and r3a2 seems to be getting a bump. I'm so nostalgic if nothing else
Edited by catachanninjaSpeaking of nostalgia, I have a notebook I used for listbuilding way back when I first started playing and this was the first list I have written down.
Corran w/ PTL, R2-D2, Adv Sensors
Rookie x 2
Bandit
This is the first list I ran against strangers and I then subsequently ran it at my first Store Championship, went 2-1 and won my first acrylic. This was in the immediate aftermath of Worlds 2014, so pre-nerf Phantoms and Fat Han were the lists to beat. I had seen Nathan Eide's matches at Worlds and felt inspired. In retrospect this is NOT a wholesome list like I remember it, but the fact that I missed half of my triggers for Adv. Sensors / R2-D2 made it much more fair and at least it required arcs + not repositioning with perfect board state info?
Are we talking list nostalgia?
One of the first times I ever went to casual night, I was so convinced this was the best list ever:
•Boba Fett (50) - Firespray-31
Veteran Instincts (1), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), Recon Specialist (3)
•Rexler Brath (50) - TIE Defender
Veteran Instincts (1), Assault Missiles (5), Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
But before that was my actual very first list:
•Darth Vader (31) - TIE Advanced
Squad Leader (2)
Scimitar Squadron Pilot (21) - TIE Bomber
Proton Bombs (5)
Academy Pilot (12) - TIE Fighter
Academy Pilot (12) - TIE Fighter
Academy Pilot (12) - TIE Fighter
Academy Pilot (12) - TIE Fighter
What was saddest was how often I won. All those casual players I remember being so good really weren't that good I guess...
So few upgrades! I really miss the days of "would all of this combo stuff I'm trying to do just be better as a TIE Fighter/Z-95 instead?" being the central question in list building.
Same here. My favorite gameplay has always been spamming generics to form a huge cool-looking squad. I think GUNBOAT swarms are my favorite thing in 1.0.
Still looking for my swarm in 2.0. Maybe it would be YT-2400 or TIE Defender swarms, but I'm fairly certain you can't fit three of either in a list. Also just bought enough K-Wings and ARCs that I can try triple K-Wings and triple ARC-170s when 2.0 hits.
How do you break an Arc Only tournament? The rules are "no turret upgrades, no bombs, no missiles, no torps, PWT only shoot out of the front." I had the new TO clarify that YV-666, Auzituks, Shadowcasters, and other double arc ships work as intended.
My son will take triple defenders, but I want to try something else. Kylo/Soontir could be fun. Palp/Inq/QD would be predictable. Fenn/Teroch/(Torani or Zuckuss) would be ridiculously dice dependent. I need both ideas of things I'd like to fly as well as what other degenerates would think up to plan against.
What would you do?
Quickdraw double silencer? Kylo whisper is a ton of fun, but more so after krennic releases.

I don't have 2 silencers

Huh - yeah, probably just kylo soontir - but you'll probably lose to trip defender.
I don't think anything can hang with defenders.

I don't believe you!
I beat him last time (with another version of triple defenders ...)
Do Wookiees get to use their full turret arc? or are they locked to primary only?

This is my first reaction as well.
How is Trip Wookies not the answer here?
First list:
Braylen Sramm + R2D2
Blue Sqdrn B-wing
Blue novice T70
Rookie
........
I won so much....until I lost.
My war against Biggs, Miranda, Dash, Assaj, RAC, Ghosts, Nym and Wookies began with what is still my favorite list of all time:
My games with that list taught me more about how to play than basically anything since, and honestly as I moved away from it I think I became worse at the real game beneath the pile of 1.0 cards even though I never let go of arcs. Its amazing how ignorance can make you fearless and optimistic against lists you have no real chance against. It was at times a genuine advantage? Stumbled into the fact that Rec Spec is great against TLT, and Advanced Sensors allows for some nifty bump and shoot tactics or desperation K-Turns.
I remember vividly my first games against Kanan/Biggs and RAC/lo which happened back to back on the same sad day.
Dreams died that day. Reality is a *****.
But nothing pissed me off more than facing Miranda/Nym.
I can count the # of times I have lost to that specific list on one hand because the first time I saw it I decided "never again will I lose to this bull".
Thats when I discovered Kylo Crew and lived long enough to see myself become the villain.

I only have 2. Most people around here barely have 1.
I've been thinking of 2 Wookiees + a friend, but it seems a bit much, even for this format.
Timewalk Asajj in a world without bombs, turrets, or munitions also has legs.
Sometimes it posts without refreshing...

Wait, wookies still work?! defenders vs wookies is a real game, every other mortal ship can tremble in fear at them.
Man, Arvel might be really good in 2.0. His ability in 1.0 really wasn’t that terrible. He just got a sore deal with only getting the 1 ept. Now he’s even better.
If we we are talking early 2.0 competitive scene (if the full conversion kit tourney type proves to be the “premiere” event type), then he should be a strong consideration for counter meta players. I fully expect high PS/initiative advantage is likely going to be where all the try hards default to since it will feel like the most unfair thing they can still do, and Arvel can just ram down their throats, boost block, and fire on them with no worry of return fire. If some variation of Prockets is still available, strap those on for that first pass, and anything after that is just icing. He even gets around Luke Gunner! Haha.

Tabletop.to is definitely taking it up a notch. They're missing a few things that I think are critical if they want to be the end all be all package for X-Wing, but I really hope they get there. They're doing all the things Sozin and I wanted to do way back in the day but never did.

I'm just not sure if I staple predator or outmaneuver on marvel now

outmaneuver, and then add wedge with outmaneuver and Jan Ors with moldy crow. your opponents will be sad you are throwing so much red to so little green. it will be beautiful.

Prockets won't work - Arvel is attacking at Range 0 now, and I don't want to live in a world where a R0 munition exists / is a good idea. He's probably stuck with primary only.
