I think the Defender looks dumb. The TIE is iconic, the Interceptor and Striker look fast and sleek. The Defender looks like they stapled three strikers to a TIE pod.

Take the top gun, slice it off, and move it to the underside of the hull. That's what I did with mine.

I used to HATE the K-Wing design prior to it being introduced to the game, but FFG did such a good job adapting the design that it no longer offends me. They do a really good job turning lazy/stupid designs into good looking sculpts.

My plan was to replace the e wing model with an f35 if i ever wound up playing it extensively, but i've been striking out finding toy planes at the right scale

Daron World Wide Trading or Daron Postage Stamp has a 1/150 scale that is the closest I could find for the Falcon 4.0 alt format I tried doing awhile back.

There definitely medium base size though.

In 1.0 it was the tie phantom, though the silencer got some consideration as well.

Any confirmation of whether or not conversion kits will be on sale then? Last official thing I saw only mentioned the core set and without the kits I'm not sure I care all that much...

They're so last minute with OP prizes (hello Canadian Nats!) that they may just as well print the Boba decks to be 2.0 for the remaining System Opens. Watch those venues get swamped if they do so.

That can only be answered by...what do you like? There are plenty of demo events, plenty of demos ad hoc in the vendor hall, plenty of open play gaming (Rio Grande room is great for that), etc. Also, do you have a group you're going with or going solo?
