I was thinking about Hera, because she has the best repositioning/ace ability in the game, yet despite always being referred to as the best pilot in the whole Rebels show (in which Wedge shows up), she's only i5. So she can get out-initiative-ed. Boba's in the same boat: massive reposition, but not i6.

So will either pilot see play? Because all three factions can build an i6 aces NPE. Han/Wedge/Fenn for the Rebels, Vader/Soontir/Shuttle for the Imperials, and Dengar/Fenn for Scum. Is that the new meta?

maybe? for arc dodging initiative still matters but at least im not going to get half my list ps, err initiative, killed in the first turn thanks to red dice de-escalation.

Fair. I'm still using Hera as a benchmark of the meta, because I'm pretty certain she's going to be a solid ship and something will be wrong if she can't do anything.

Also, how salty would it make the forums if all the new changes made turrets so hard to fly that fat turrets were now the "skill" lists and the turret players condescendingly picked on the ace players for flying "no skill" lists?

No way to know yet. I think Dash (if he can carry Luke) is going to be the refuge of the 1.0 PWT flyer, Defenders look amazing (points dependent), TIE Swarms with Howl and Iden could be a thing for people who remember how to fly them, and support ship+Aces has more options than just Palp now on the Imperial side at least. Add into that B-Wings are back and knife fight-y as ever and Force users seem really good and there are a lot of possible meta options. We could see a lot of PS 4/5 aces being used with great value if PS 6 has to pay an extreme amount for their PS.

What if they were right though? The options available to aces are far less with so much less reposition and token stacking, and they only have one arc to think about.

Turrets now are also trading shots for defense and dice mods, and have far more options available. They're also probably more points in your list, which means the price of failure is higher, especially if they're retaining the half-points for large bases.

Face it. Aces are now easy mode.
