Ah, ****. I forgot about the damage deck.

Just use the 1.0 damage deck I guess?

Soon™

They're "on the boat". The WEG RPG reprint has been on the ******* boat for a whole ******* quarter now. So don't hold your breath.

Do we have that collected list of 2.0 demo squads somewhere? I guess there were the 3 from demo day at Worlds, the 2 from the Team Covenant video, and the 2 from the BoLS video, though there may be some overlap...

I took matters into my own hands

Back on top!

Also, how much shorter would the thread be if we removed every variation on Krayts on top or I agree? At least 5-10 pages, right?

Let’s not question that.

Are we arbitrarily growing the thread?

I can move some of my Discord discussions over here...

Ok, controversial opinion. If the Resistance ends up being able to build a 200-point Falcon in 2.0, I'll be ok.

I actually kinda like the feel of one person flying a fat turret and the other person attacking it from all sides, using actual strategy to figure out how to beat it. So if the Resistance gets a 200 point Falcon, it won't really bug me as long as it's balanced.

Back when X-Wing first came out, my brother and I would recreate classic Star Wars battles. I got pretty good at beating fat Han with four Academy Pilots.

I mean, I guess it's fine thematically but that sounds like a massive NPE.

Yeah, I meant if it's balanced.

I just think ace vs. ace forever is a boring game. Fat turret is a playstyle and I feel like it should at least have a chance, just like bombs, or ordnance, or swarms. Lots of X-Wing players just endlessly scream that they want aces made better, but I actually think when aces are to good, it's just as much of an NPE as when anything else is too good.

Feel like the big problem would be dealing with MoV, but otherwise I’m right there with ya. A single 100 point ship isn’t something we’ve really seen before. Would be a cool change.

Don't get me wrong: I have no problem conceptually with a "Fat Han" if its balanced. I just don't want to be the only ship my opponent is flying.

Anyone else flying TIE/D's to wean themselves off of x7 token stacking? 40 point Stele w/Ion Cannon and Calculation is a beast.

Catching up on Worlds stuff. I played and fortressed against Gerry TWICE at Worlds: once on Day 1 and once on Day 2. I won the first time on a disadvantaged 7 to 9 salvo (was flying Palp Aces). I roll all my dice and get 5 hits, he rolls 5 of his 9 dice and rolls all focus and blank. It was glorious. Also nobody really gave us trouble about waiting out the Final Salvo. At some point we just stopped setting dials and took really long "bathroom breaks".

Oh and speaking of meeting and forgetting people at Origins: my first round of flight 2 at Origins I end up on Table 1 and I see this kid, who I swear couldn't be older than high school age, setting up streaming equipment. I go up and ask "Oh cool are we going to be on stream?" and he says no, they're just recording and going to upload to YouTube later. In the back of my mind I'm wondering if he's doing this for a school project or something. I find out later that the name of the YouTube channel is Carolina Krayts, and only now do I realize that kid was almost certainly Chris...

Are we just telling embarrassing stories about chris? I'm down.

We could probably get to page 300 if everyone shared embarrassing Chris stories.

...yes, that was me.

More fun "chris looks like he's in highschool" stories:

Mary bought a lottery ticket, while I was in the background doing something else. The cashier asked for ID, she pulled hers out - he said not you, but me. I was 25, age for lottery tickets is 18 in NC...

I was at my LGS, someone asked me if I was in middle or high school two years after I'd graduated college.

Beards help with that. I may not need it anymore at 36, but I haven't tried it. I was carded before that, around 27 though...

My wife relies on our 3 kids, ages 4 to 8, and people still wonder if she might not still be in high school, but they figure it might be impossible. Seeing their faces as they work it out is priceless.

We will win when we're much older!
