Y'all think the 2 turn on Defenders get's knocked back to a white maneuver in 2.0?
4 minutes ago, Brunas said:Oh I believe you, I just meant I like the idea of a more expensive defender. Double D being 200 points could be cool. Imperial brobots style stuff.
double D is scarily strong if someone who knows what they are doing with it is using it. I have tabled people with this.

I kinda hope they let go of the full action free flip moves in general...Sloopin Rey, Advanced Sensors Ks, Defender Ks etc.
If I want to run the Falcon or Defender which are incredibly cool ships thematically I would prefer not to be trapped in an infinite sloopin loop anymore.
Small Base Half Pts on the other hand is actually on my "Watch List" same as Luke Crew and Force Mechanics in general.
I honestly have no idea if it will create more problems than it solves.

Compare a Defender base price to a Silencer base price and stat line. You pay a premium for that 4K.

I would be 100% in on that. Party like it's 1994 with Ion Cannons, Missiles, and a rockin' chassis. If they can pack multiple modifications, Afterburners and a Hull Upgrade would be amazing.

Right the point cost is a thing.
I guess what I am saying is I would trade that 4K for a Defender that had something more mechanically interesting like Adaptive Alerons instead.

Hi, I don't think we've met.

Truth.

There was that "Windows 95" meme list with Vessery Tie D and two gunboats. Maybe in 2.0 that's not so meme'y.

The Ion into cruise combo has never failed to impress me. Surprise! 5 dice!

I think the bullseye makes the 4K more interesting than it seems. From experience, the 4K is good, but you often have option, and sometimes when it looks perfect for a 4k something else is in fact better. Its also the defender's entire thing, so maybe I'm too defensive about it.

This is true, hadnt thought about that. And yea im ultimately cool with it sticking around, its kinda an institution.
I just cant help but wonder what a Defender without the flippy 4k would play like.

Definitely depends on the other factors (HP, dial, cost, etc.). If it didn't have the 4k, to be remotely similar to where it is now, it would have to hit like a truck.

About like the E-wing...

A more tanky X wing with less interesting Pilot abilities on the higher PS pilots.
I just got a big bundle of krayt cards on ebay. Are there any plans for Second Edition Kraytversion Kits?

No. You will need to win them all over again. I shipped out your cards this morning BTW.
@Do I need a Username once used a LEGO model to explain to me the physics behind why the TIE Defender can actually do a K-Turn just about as easily as a normal turn. Ever since then, I've been perfectly ok with the white 4K and I'd actually be bugged if they got rid of it.
Edited by Kieransiand once again, people prove they don't understand what control is.
Speaking of control, we've seen the wording on Ion cannon/turret. 1st uncancelled hit applies a damage and then every additional uncancelled hit applies an ion token per hit. It takes 1 ion token for a small base, 2 for a medium and 3 for a large for them to be Ionized.
Do we think a similar mechanic is going to follow for tractor beams? 1st hit you can TB a small base, 2 hits you can TB a medium base and 3 hits lets you beam a large base?

I don't think so... has the tractor beam been confirmed yet? It's kind of a horrendously powerful control piece vs small bases so I won't shed any tears if it fails to make the cross to 2.0.
Outside of "Control Bots" when was it ever "meta relevant" as a stand alone cannon? It's an opportunity cost.
1) Hope you don't go up against large base ships where's it's largely irrelevant
2) Fire it in hopes of getting a ship on a rock or out of arc at the cost of dealing damage.
The only time it was fairly abusive was when it was part of the Shadowcaster title. Because then you were dealing damage & possibly costing the opponent a shot. It was best of both worlds.

Top of the meta stack? No. Have I encountered it being used to the same great effect? Yes. I've done it with the Shadowcaster, I've had it done to me when the Mist Hunter was just released (that was a painful game...) and I'm sure many others have as well.
But it's not even that it wasn't on the top of the meta stack... It's the removing of your opponent from the game aspect I'm looking at.

The token has appeared in the conversion kit spreads.
