VTTV won best stream, so there is strong evidence that it wasn't rigged. They truly are #1 and have been for a while. All this without Patreon money until very recently (I may have bugged them a bit to get it done) and with no incessant advertising.

Nope, same here. A lot of the casual guys get super salty about, “OP netlists” (for example Wes, Poe & Fenn has come in for particularly vehement criticism), dice, “lucky,” asteroid or bump avoidance and so on. The competitive guys are just relaxed and having a good time.

I'm not sure I'd get the best of The Zach Matthews watching on stream to begin with, let alone when you're clocked out.

I played control bots in the hangar bay for the first time, I don’t think I ever want to do that to anyone ever again and I really don’t want them to do that to me.

It is way more skill intensive than pretty much anything popular at the moment, but find someone pretty good with them and it is a massive NPE.

I really want Brobots to win so that people will unironically point out that the game is fine and clearly nothing is wrong with 1.0

I'd rather have the Empire win just to go out with a glorious finale to 1.0 since a Paul v Nathan rematch wasn't going to happen after top 8.

I occasionally play double ION TIE/D. It seems fine, and like it takes skill but then I ion you and win.

Aside from the fact that so few people play brobots at a high-level, control bots can absolutely be a major NPE. Token stacking, ion, tractors that can arc dodge with advanced sensors. They need enough skill to fly them though, they don't have the high floor of the other top meta lists.

And control bots win worlds, guess we cancel 2.0 now? Double scum 3-pete.

Brobot players sometimes bug me. They're kinda like Dash players - convinced that their NPE is wholesome and they're some kind of cool hipster for flying it. I'm not looking forward to watching all the annoying Brobot players crawl out of the woodwork and say "X-Wing is fine! A fair list won worlds!"

I want these people to play against Ion, then tell me they had fun, and made decisions. With Ion, you have to engage right, and if you do, the game is over. Ironically, the low damage it does is worse in my mind, as it just means you have to play longer against something that isn't fun.

I would say to some extent, almost everything in the game is an NPE to someone. However, I would like to submit that the biggest NPE is something that removes agency. I think Travis talked about it at one point, even if it isn't good, it isn't fun to play against because you aren't playing the game. Ion lists tell your opponent that they weren't invited to this game, and control in that method isn't fun. look at most of the NPEs - they remove your ability to make meaningful decisions about the game, and ion certainly qualifies.
