Dang it, where's that owl meme..

youll know it when you hear it.

Want to know who is actually decent in your community? Announce, without salt, that you're moving on. Some very nice comments from some and some unbelievable whining and name calling from others. I'd like to point out that many of those "others" have been a huge part of why I lost interest for X-wing in the last year and change and why I dread organizing events where they might show up.

It's really making me reconsider riding out competitive 1.0, which is a shame, cause I'll miss all the nice people I've met (and regret not making it to another PTL event).

What do I need to listen to? Today's Kessel Run episode?

So... something has been bugging me about the (admittedly very little) we know about 2.0.

How does one check the list at the beginning of the tournament? I don't mean the player who brought it, I mean the opponent, the judge checking the list... As a TO, do I need to input each list into some special tournament software? Do I trust a handwritten points on the sheet when I look at the cards? Should a list be printed out with a barcode/QR code for quick scanning into the builder? Not saying this is a problem, I'm sure somebody has thought about this, but I'm curious what the process will be.

Same way as now? Either a printout or written out on a squad sheet. How many people actually look at the cards their opponent brought and add up all the points on the cards themselves?

You can add up the points on the cards. You can't do that with 2.0, and have to reference a separate sheet... with hundreds of cards. So that's rather... clunky.

You "can". Which is why I asked how often people actually DO that to confirm their opponent is flying a legal list.

Depends on whether or not a certain group of people have offered a bounty on playing with an illegal list! :)

As proven, not enough people. TOs should. Admittedly, I don't at my silly little off-meta tournaments, but you bet I'm checking the math at store champ.

And of course, the whole point of that bounty is... so that people check the list!

Before 2.0 I'm totally running 3 naked VCX's at a tournament.

But do you have guidance chips? And at least one needs to ghost title.

There used to be a 75% of getting a blackout every single time with these cards, but with X-Wing 2.0, we're also going to be entering Carolina Krayts 2.0 and half these phrases probably won't get used anymore! Enjoy!!
