Ghost Fenn fix?
When you coordinate, you can only coordinate actions on the coordinating ships action bar. Depends on if you can equip engine upgrade or not to sheathipede and at what cost...and if it adds to action bar.

where we're going, we don't need.... ghost fenn fixes...
[because it won't exist in its current form anyway]

Yep!

how many podcasts are going to have an "emergency" stream tonight?

Probably just GSP since all of them are on airplanes?

Mynocks were holding off until tonight to prepare for something like this.
Ooof, all this complexity they're adding into the game. That's where they failed the first time around, I hope for you people they figured it out this time around!
4 months left until freedom (because I actually do like 1.0!).

let's wait and see on complexity.
red actions are obvious. Bullseye isn't hard (and though it's always printed, not always relevant), and spinning an arc isn't hard.
Force charges don't seem like a big deal, either.

I didn't mean playing. I meant designing, balancing, and playtesting.
Is focus into barrel roll worth more than evade into boost? Should it be?
I have no horse in the game, since I'm out and it's not out of bitterness or anything. The thought experiments remain fun, at least until I find another hobby that ends up strangely similar to my day job.
Edit: and, as always, I'm coming at this from a "my kids play too" point of view.
Edited by drjkelAny idea where the upgrade bar is? Or is that omitted to be fluid like the squad point cost?

Upgrades icons are on the app, not cards.

That kind of complexity (decision complexity) is a good thing in games though, right?
Were going to need a krayt thread 2.0.
All previous " I agree"s will need a conversion kit.

Ugh. The app-dependence is the only thing I'm not fired up about. Cool that it makes it easier for them to fine-tune on the fly, but I play tabletop games to get away from screens...

you probably dont need your app open in games - just that you print out from the builder, and you're good to go?

if you look at the tac officer card, it just has the icon and flavor text. Squad leader looks like additional rules to coordinate

I really hope so.
Getting back to kraytness, how about a bounty for seeing how long you keep an FFG support person on the phone before they realize you are trying to run their app in linux?

I was still talking about balancing the whole thing.
I'm with you, I want a super deep, complex, and balanced puzzle to solve every single time I sit down to play. Which is why I only reused a list once, where's the fun in a solved puzzle?
My concern is that where 1.0 went off the rail is when they ramped up the complexity and a ton of unforeseen (some really obvious) ways to break the game were discovered. Starting from a more complex structure with more moving parts doesn't make those problems go away. If anything, it means even more rigorous testing is required to make sure nothing breaks the game in horrendous ways.
Neither of those things are what FFG has shown they are good at.

The difference is that it appears they separated a lot of levers:
factions
points
upgrade slots
that allows them to readjust independently of other issues, which seems really cool (and good).
heres hoping!
Is it just me or so far on site does it feel like a decent amount of people haven’t played games with edition changes? I’m seeing a lot of talk about the conversion kits and how expensive they are, but I’m looking at if I absolutely needed to buy 2 per faction (probably don’t) I could get an entire new edition of the game for $300 with 14 waves worth of content minus the first order and resistance. That seems like a super cheap minis game all in 3 full factions buy in, and also pretty cheap compared to a D&D edition change. Am I crazy?

You are absolutely right.

But am I absolutely right about being crazy or the first part? Or is the answer there “yes” haha.
Throwing this gif back into rotation.

I have never seen a full edition change like this before since Miranda-Wing was my first miniatures game, didn't really even think it was possible.
Really looking forward to it.
From what I have read so far it looks like this new version might be a game that involves making choices that potentially even involve consequences?
Also it would be cool if ships take damage when they are shot.
Thats my hope anyway.

Same but should we panic now or panic later?
I’m still happily surprised that they’re doing conversion kits with new cardboard and bases and dials. I guess they decided they had to or lose too many players.
poked in to see what was happening in Armada land. you'd think they we're the x-wing forums over there. SO MUCH SALT!
