I was thinking both - start with some MvM, then move into pubs after we get our team sync down.

Also, I still need to buy something to remove the free player thingy and let you guys trade me some stuff. I was gonna get a map stamp, but then I saw that the boots that prevent you from taking as much damage from rocket jumps are called GUNBOATS, so...

Never buy an item from Mann Co that's a weapon. Buying one of every single unlock (130+) from scrap.tf costs less than a dollar.

Buy either the cheapest item you can, or a Contract Pass (as you might eventually want that) to remove the FTP designation.

As an example, I gave LagJanson 72 compressed weapons (I meant to give him 142, but am bad at math).

You saw me turn 108 compressed weapons into a pair of Allstars and be pleased with that result- The shoes were worth more.

Weapons are basically free.

this is why I want to team sync a little in MvM. I think that mostly the skill disparity between everyone is rather small, and we are good at communicating things, and that is how we win - not because skill, but because we communicate in pubs.

I spent a couple hours on this game yesterday, so hopefully my lack of communication won't make me a total boatanchor.

I also found myself wandering around a lot admiring the scenery and not even fighting stuff. I'm not really sure what this game is supposed to be (it's like super violent but also really silly and cartoony?) and I find its lack of story/characterization/character progression disturbing, but I have to admit, the graphics are beautiful.

Also just wanted to confirm: does friendly fire happen in the game, and it's a bad thing, right?

Are there more communications you can do via the keyboard? Like how the E key calls for medic?

Also, I'm ok just being the random scrub who does what I'm told, since I'll at least see your guys' chat on the screen. I like to roleplay the Soldier as much as possible.

There is no friendly fire. People shooting at teammates are Spychecking- Seeing if their teammates are spies. (Who will take damage)

The game does have a plot, but it's incredibly bizarre. Watch the "Meet the Team" videos on youtube or read the comics to hear the nonsensical reasons why the events are happening, why the robots drop money when they die, why everyone fights and dies over a big pile of gravel.

For the aesthetics, ypu can see their design docs- The entire game was supposed to look like a norman rockwell painting.

You can type, or yes, hit the default communication keys. I just tried to react to what I was told to do as best as I could. Usually it was pretty obvious! (Janson, you're going to want to back off... *splat, dies* Yeah, guess I would have...)

The Z/X/C keys bring up more voice menus. G brings up taunts (which you only have defaults for ATM)

V is push to talk.

As a sign of (Dis)respect I like to say "Thanks" after I get a kill (their killcam will show me giving a thumbs up and their sound will hear it) or dodge shots as scout/med and spam "Nice Shot!"

Also if you're actually going to do that I'd wait a bit - I'm low on templates and need some time to get more made and such. Considering a redesign so I'm just sitting on the last few I have for now.

I got Tyson 100-0 at the regional RIGHT BEFORE they put on the bounty, then he gave up podcasting. That's as close as I've gotten

And then I found out Gordon from Stay on Target doesn't count either. Double whammy!
