HAD TO CHANGE THE NUMBERS BECAUSE I CAN'T REEE
Squads that made the cut and used prockets had 88% winrate in swiss, which is higher than harpoons at 80%
just throwing that out there
also, 7 out of 29 squads with prockets made the cut, and overall they won 56% of their games
for cruisemissiles, 18 out of 78 made the cut and overall they won 50% of their games (and 68% for those that made the cut)
for harpoons, 136 out of 486made the cut, and overall they won 56% of their games (and 80% for those that made the cut)
Nerf... prockets?!
(there is of course an overlap, I might look at that at some point)

I just listened to your latest podcast, being on the right side of the pond I'm not familiar with you krayts where are you taking all that awesome data from? Is that greendragoon magic?

It’s all from list juggler and meta wing, and I’m pretty sure Travis does most(all) of the analysis.

nope, Travis does it all himself

Yes, it's all from list juggler (i.e. public), but it's not metawing - I do it myself, mostly because I have different questions I'm trying to answer.

What does the Export All to CSV button do?

I love it!
Are you planning on publish them somewhere? I would love to point out to my fellow players how obnoxious palpaaces were during the deadeye jumps dark ages and all those awesome other stuff, but I'm too lazy (or too dumb) to gather data from juggler by myself

In the past it would create a giant .csv table (a comma separated text file) with all the lists in the juggler. It stopped working about a year ago when the juggler contents became too large, I'm not sure if sozin fixed it but he said it pushed the system to its limits. There is also an api with which you access things more easily.
Babble bump gossip gossip. Babble babble. CONTENT! Babble, insult, babble.

Flight 2 (tomorrow) for me. My brain is half there though as I consider last minute changes, strategies and questioning why I've inflicted pain upon myself once more.
Here's a graph I've been meaning to post that touches on the stuff Travis was talking about this week. Sorry about the dark background!
This is all the elimination data (i.e. every tournament with a cut) in the list juggler plotted over time. I've only filtered out obviously illegal lists (which is mainly > 100 point lists) and the weird Brazil meta prior to 2017. It includes lists in incomplete cuts. The points on the graph are plotted weekly, but each cover the preceding four weeks, so there's a bit of smoothing going on. There's a couple of times where the number of lists drops very low where the split is less meaningful so I've plotted the number of lists as well.

This is fantastic!
Can we create a metric to determine the magnitude of gap?
Is the simple largest-smallest good? (I suspect this is too naive)
I would just advocate for monitoring the size of the least represented faction, but that wouldn't tell us if the other two are evenly split, or if the next larged faction was also similarly small.

I've not done this but I can do if you have a particular metric you're interested in. You can get an idea of least represented faction from this graph though, which is the same as the above but plotted with lines.

Itcreally shows that players are flowing between Rebels and Scum more so than Imperials. You can see drops in Scum mirrored by rises in Rebels at the same time and vice versa.
As an aside, it also looks data from a single molecule FRET experiment.

Rebel and S&V players are flavor-of-the-month. Imperial players are loyalists ![]()
Or ya know, that just how the power level swung as new expansions and Errata were released.
Anyone else bothered by the fact that colors of the key are in the reverse order of the colors of the graph, or am I just being anal?

There are three points of convergence here, where the data shows that there were the same number of each faction in cuts taken globally. So ... what happened in August 2015, January 2017 and August 2017?

January 2017 - Height of pre-FAQ Paratanni and x7 (no idea of why convergence)
August 2017 - Post wave-nym (whatever #); so full FSR 2, wookies, NymMiranda, triple scouts (wasn't big), RAClo, attempts at not-RAClo, and scum jank (before timewalk Assaj was "discovered)
This is really cool!
you can also see the harpoon/gunboat bump for imperials, for example.
Something similar for arcs would be nice. How many ships or lists with turrets were used over time?

August 2015, if it recall correctly, every faction had like 2 maybe 3 builds, rebels and imps basicslly had fat turret plus, scum had brobots, and there was some tie swarm, rebel control and quad ion y mixed in.
Edit: this was probably the last time x wing was good and pure.
