You might be able to put an unlimited numbers of EPT and he'd still be only decent

Sure, but he deserves to do what he wants. After years of sadness without an EPT, let him live! Free the astromech slot! do something funny! Also, Horton with all the zero point EPTs +VI+Expertise is definitely something I am for.

Yeah. After you kit him out he's only a couple points cheaper than a 41 point Lothal rebel with TLT that has 2x the health, a 4 dice primary, native evade action, immune to tractor beam, and more resilient to ion.

Horton Salm: This card gains the card text "You may equip any number of (epts) to your ship, paying no squad point cost for any of them"

On a 47 point Nym (bomblet, all of the good upgrades, such as Harpoon+EM) being flown alongside a Timewalk Asajj, should the mod be LRS or Chimps? On one hand, Crits and potential triple-mod shots. On the other, improved overall firepower as I assume Nym typically bails in and out of combat?
I bought a Scurrrg for Cruise missiles so I have no idea what i'm doing with it.

Chimps. Nym doesn't like to be on an island. He's very vulnerable. If he has LRS he has a range restriction for locks(can't be too close) and has a range restriction in relation to Asajj to proxy lone wolf. Plus with Chimps you bypass some limited Fenn shenanigans if you run across it.

I flew it with Wedge and painted the engines to look pretty. It'll likely never come off the shelf again.
That said.... G.Chips was what I used as well.
Was a bit late listening to the last episode but I just want to say, at this point I'm only playing X-wing for three reasons: 1. the memes, 2. my local community, 3. you guys.
If I recall correctly, Focus+Lock has better expected damage by .07, so not huge, but appreciable. However, Nym can still get a lock at high PS easily, so chips might just be the better option.

Just played Fenn/Ghost for the first time. REEEEEEEEEE! Seeing that in reality, after only theorizing about it, really has me expecting SOMETHING is going to happen. I can't imagine FFG intended that mess. I'll be glad after next week when I can happily fly trash on casual nights again. Already working on a nice five ship scum list...

I'm 1-1 against my son's Defenders with Ghost Fenn, and I managed to beat it with Yorr/Quickdraw/Inquisitor today in a National prep tournament (to which we're not going... we're the target practice!).

I do think high agility with a lot of modifiers has a decent chance - IF the green dice cooperate long enough to deal some damage. That TLT just slowly sandblasts everything, but not that slow, because it's rolling 2-3 hits pretty consistently. Stress is a terrible tactic vs the Ghost - need to hit Fenn with it, if you can. While I doubt anybody would let me go to final salvo - it's still 9 dice vs 9 dice. My mental question is... do I m9G8 the Ghost and force re-rolls - or do I m9G8 my BTL Y-wings and go offense... I think defense might be the better choice... which... is still only like a 50% chance of improvement on a single die. 
Of course, I could just lose and end up not facing anybody with one anyway, so I'm not going to work myself into a fit about it.
Yeah... it can be beaten... it's going to dumpster so many people though who aren't prepared for it. I expect to hear a lot of salt after next weekend. I won't be complaining though - don't care enough to. My game plan is to have fun, talk to people, play X-Wing, and go home at the end of the day after 6 games with a smile on my face because I expect 5 out of 6 games will still be fun.

out of interest, how did the defenders win and what was the list? I've spent some time thinking on that matchup, and I don't see a real way for the defenders.
