I don't think anyone would want to see arc dodgers changed as the only change to the game. But, I'm not even convinced this is true. Arc dodgers don't exist anymore, the only one left is the inquisitor and he doesn't double reposition enough to matter.

This is why it's so hard to convince anyone that literally anything is bad for the game or not fun.

at the end of the day it doesn't matter to me because I will always try to compete with the big boys with stupid janky lists.... I'm not known for flying Jan Ors and A-Wings for nothing.

but that logic is sound, bulk changes are what needs to happen. the truth is, I honestly don't know what changes need to happen to make things better.

Jousting efficiency is king. It always has been, still is, and always will be. Back when arc dodgers were all the rage, they were also, not coincidentally, the most efficient jousters. You can afford to lose some efficiency as an arc dodger, but it's smaller than you probably think, it's on the order of 10%, MAYBE 15% more cost over a pure jouster with the same raw dice value.

With constant power creep, it's only a matter of time before a bigger hammer comes out and replaces the old stuff, be it arc dodgers or some other boogeyman. This is why game balance is hard!

I just heard on gold squadron that the Green Bay regional was handing out stickers for getting a 100 to 0 win. Does anyone know if that was a krate thing or something the venue was doing?

Turns out there are 6 outliers, two are underperforming and 4 overperforming. All others show a simple linear relationship between swiss and cut. 3 Corrans means that one will make the cut, for example.

Bad are Nusquadron and Poe (PS9). But careful with the Nu - that‘s not accounting for many generics in a squad!

Good are Lowhhrick, Lothal, Zeb and Fenn.

Throw these on a table and you are more likely to make the cut. I know, we all knew already. But now we know based on data, not gut feeling and anecdotes.

e: nevermind, Did a Tukey-Anscombe and it shows a cone to the right, so the data does not have iid errors and the linear model has to be dismissed
