Carolina Krayts is the best X-Wing podcast

All this ticket nonsense has me thinking of the unintended consequences from the listener series.

Mid day on a weekday sucked, but it insures the people that really cared were trying hardest to get in. A lottery lets everyone throw their name in, so people that are mildly interested have a much higher chance of getting in this time.

Unless that is an intended consequence, and they really think coruscant is the competitive event this year and worlds is more fun/convention?

My guess is they didn't put as much thought into Worlds as you just have

Scratch that - I think they focused on the supporting logistics

So I didn't apply for worlds- I'm not gud enough to warrant it, nor do I want to explain at work why i'm taking a vacation 1 week after I last took a vacation. Should I have signed up in hope of getting day 1C so that it could be sold to the highest bidder anyways?

They aren’t transferable.

I’m amused by the commotion of people who did well last year or the year before. You get a reserved seat if you win a regional ... so ... Git Gud?

I think another point of that is that some regionals are less/more competitive than others. For example, Nym showed up in force in Toronto, but in Denver, following the same rules, there were only two Nym/Mirandas. In short, some players who may be better than others don't get a chance because they have fewer regionals in the area. However, for the most part, this should only be a complaint made by Canadians. People in the States get a lot of love in terms of events and such.

I don' need a ticket to drink in the parking lot do i?

If you drink the parking lot, you might get another type of ticket...

" no officer, I do not wish to have any contract with you, your municipality or your state. Have a good day.goodbye."

Should be fine.

No. Police =/= Retail, whining will not get you what you want.

It does not. That's why this is not a free country . It's more like a free range farm where the animals don't really know they are being trapped.

I did get out of a ticket once by asking "if I got a ticket would i have to pay it right meow."

Content again:

Is Leebo too good? Can Etahn Abaht be beaten? How does one counter the power of Dhutch Vander? Is the Punisher too good of a ship? How far can I get you to read for the idea of content? I think at this point, and in this meta, Concussion missiles are unironically better than harpoons in almost every list.

Actually not convinced all of those statements are as silly as they seem. Leebo's 360-degree HLC at PS5 is good enough in today's meta to ignore the fact that his ability is pretty much useless against everyone except Kylo. If you really need those two points, taking Leebo over Dash has been proven to occasionally make sense. And in certain metas, Concussion Missiles are unironically a better choice.

Also, I had a bad dream last night that this thread got moved to off-topic and nobody ever replied to it.

Save the Krayt thread! Save the dream

Good enough? Sometimes.

But Dash isn't about Pilot Skill; it's about pilot ability.

Separately, concussion missiles and proton torps may be very unironic right now.

Yeah, I know. I've been trying to git gud with Leebo lately and thinking every game that it would be nice to be able to ignore the debris. But I don't think I was dreaming when I read in FFG's article last week that this list (in the spoiler at the end of the post to save space) got sixth in the Portland regional because it's a better response to Ghost/Fenn and Kanan/Fenn. And the few times I've run into Kylo of some form or other or Maarek have made me happy I had Leebo. (Also, tangent, the Maarek vs. Leebo ruling is FUBARed. They should have totally ruled that Maarek draws three cards, gives one of them to Leebo, then draws three more cards, gives one of them to Leebo, and then Leebo picks from one of those).

I'm not sure why it was never really a "thing" in my local meta until recently, but Expertise Rey + Kanan + Finn + EU is almost a scarier Dash. Especially if you have a TLT. I was not prepared for her to do a white through debris and then clear stress with Kanan and then boost after that. I was using a TLT Lothal + Eu and it was very hard to maintain separation from her at range 1. She could be almost anywhere she wanted. She was running 3P0 + tactician Lowhhrick as a wingman for further defense. I was dumpstered multiple times over trying to crack that nut. In retrospect bringing the biggest freaking rocks I can and hiding behind them will help. She doesn't really give a **** about debris unless she wants to sloop. And she is also vulnerable to stress if you can get the right shot on her. The stressbot Fenn build that popped up this weekend is an interesting counter to shut down her expertise ahead of her shooting and limits her mobility since she doesn't want to get double stressed.

My question is what is the best 38-or-cheaper wingman for her. I keep trying to make my first rebel lists and keep hitting walls of what I should bring with iconic ships- and switching back to Imperial stuff. EG, what to pair with 43 poe, my first thought was "Two Deltas" or how at 38 points Quickdraw or Vader is an option of Wingman for Rey.

The guy I was playing against was struggling with that too. He tried out Wulf but wasn't really happy with that. Switched over to Predator + Tac + 3P0 Lowhhrick and he was pretty happy. Lowhhie is tanky and can keep Rey alive longer.

You can do a lean Nora with PTL + R2D2 + Tailgunner (or inspiring recruit to shed stress easier if you need to). Or Miranda + TLT + 3P0.

Or go for more ships with control via Rex and a full stressbot Ezra + gunner build.

Save the Krayt thread! Save the dream

As much as I appreciate the pure and inevitable contradiction that this thread has become the real nightmare is imagining a world were we don't have Travis' or Zack's voice of reason and loudness actively involved in the community.

When that day comes ill start a podcast of my own called Correct Opinions and probably say a bunch of dumb things that aren't correct.

The first time I played against Rey many many months ago I borderline wanted to rage quit. Something about how incredibly awful my Imperial Boba Fett was in comparison drove me up a wall. But I didn't know any better as an ignorant stage one X-Wing player. Now...Rey seems like one of the closest things to "real" X-Wing that exists in the Rebel faction. Its everything good and pure about the rebellious among us who have not yet embraced the Z-95.

The white sloop is still absolute nonsense....but its ultimately just a gigantic Engine Upgrade Defender if you think about it.

Separately...

@Brunas has talked about how Dash is just a better version of the Kylo Silencer.

Would any of the Krayts go so far as to say that Leebo is also actually a better Silencer? Or would that cross a line?

I know I am fooling myself, but I am holding out hope that the ‘X-Wing Fix’ makes a Luke/Wes/Wedge that will fit this mold. Or maybe a new A-Wing with 3 reds, Boost/BR to fill the gap ?

Does INAU’s post count as ninja-ing this one?
