I will never talk you out of using 3 intel agent U Wings with Advanced Sensors and Engine Upgrade and 1 advanced proton torpedo.

edit: Also is Rey the best Arc dependent rebel ship? It is right?

Have you thought about R3-A2 on Jess Pava? Seems fine.

Is Kessel run the only real podcast?

The quality is off the charts.

then add two ARCs and make people who don't know what's going on rage quit. Someone jousted me with omega leader once. I almost laughed in their face.

AS I read this, the lights are flickering, like some horror movie, bomblet generator hides in the shadows, waiting, watching.

As long as you put the goosestepping deckers on trial before Steve and me!

Off to a small tournament tomorrow. I'm bringing stress Ezra and Fenn Rau to deal with Fenn/Ghost. Low and Jess to back those two up.

I may need vodka to mask the tears of failure after.

Hey, who won the big game today?

Not grasping how that's a counter, at least if it's Steven's Raptor Attack meta-dominating version.

Really?

$10 bucks says it had synched turret

At best that looks like a 50/50 matchup vs ghost fenn.

The VCX can still push out tons of damage on Rey very quickly.

Suppose we will be seeing more Tactician Fenns soon?

Ahem, my variant has a thing or two to say about Expertise.

Also takes up 4x the space for blocking.

I unironically love them, but I get SOOOOOO sick of laying down choo choo tracks on the self-bumps over the course of an actual tournament.

It's not, unless the opposing player is bad.

Ah so Raptor Attack is what he called it? I never heard an "official" list name for it so during my Indy Regional run to victory I told Dion the list name I had in mind, Spectre-7. Since the list is so thematic, I felt it deserved a thematic name to the Rebels show ;)

Im working on a app that can read Krayt Thread posts to you while your driving. Will also be able to translate messages you say out loud and post them here; if they are loud enough. I was gonna have Elon Musk do the voice over work but he is busy doing much needed work shooting cars into space. Settled on having the actor who played palpatine provide the voice over instead.

Im gonna be rich

Dee I know you're running tactician, but i feel fairly certain the average ghost fenn player lacks the mental facilities to make decisions about what range to engage in, so I'm willing to write yours off as an oddity in playtesting and theory crafting.

"Straight cancer " "the battered corpse of a game we used to enjoy" or "x wings long overdue demise " are all super apt names for the list in case "ghost fenn" wasn't specific enough

Especially because a good chunk of Ghost/Fenn probably ran Mk3 before they switched to Ghost/Fenn, and we all know how easily a potato could run that list. ;)

One day, we should have a poll about all the "horrible" lists that have come and gone, to see if opinions change once they're replaced by the new meta-monster (or nerfed into oblivion). When a list is dominant they're "THE WORST LIST EVAR!!!" but how does the past really rate with the present?

For example:

  • I remember all the incessant whining about Paratanni, but having played it and against it, it really wasn't that bad, just super efficient.
  • Palp defenders were scratchable, if you brought enough offense (I've never played that one, triple defenders is more my style).
  • Dengaroo was abusive, but there was some counterplay depending on your list, or maybe that's just because I could run triple x7s against it.
  • Dengar Tel was brought out once after they won world in a store champ and the player got 5th. I didn't play against it, but I sure teched for it with Kath and Ketsu, to take the hits and dish them back out.
  • Triple torp jumps never happened here, 2 jumps and a slaver did, so did triple jumps without torps (dubbed Briar's patch). I never played them, but I played against the slaver one, and I got my *** handed to me because I flew very, very badly (parking the Ghost at R1 on a rock was dumb! I learned to fly better.)
  • Nymranda was not fun to play, because I care about my opponent having some modicum of fun, but I've never played against it to personally feel the horribleness.
  • Limited by who in our local meta played them, thus I have no opinion: Ego mk3, Kanan-Biggs, Kanan-Low (never flown locally afaik).
  • The FennGhost lists don't look fun to play or play against, are clearly really, really good and probably not good for the game, but is it really the worst ever? The Copenhagen finale was really fun to watch with my son, while we discussed what each of them should do in any given round to outplay their opponent.

Which was the actual worst NPE list ever, if there even was one?

My main worry is that the cleanest way to nerf this one is to make engine upgrade small ship only, and that nerfs so many other things...

Dengar + Expertise + Maul + Counter-Measures + Punishing One
Asajj Ventress + Lone Wolf + Latts Razzi + Glitterstim + Glitterstim
(100)

This list won Regio in Poland (50 players). Maybe jumpmasters will save us for the third time? :P

@drjkel - A few more examples...

  • FSR2 - though to be fair I had fun in all but one match with it. I didn't mind flying against it, but that broken player in the first round of Nationals that was totally unprepared for the match against me was pretty sad.
  • Biggs/Ghost - Yeah, that wasn't a fun game either... I'm not sure if Fenn/Ghost is worse or better. Yay! I have choices! Booo! my choices suck and you just boosted the Ghost out of arc anyway...

Nym-Miranda I kinda want another crack at beating, and yet... not. It's like dropping a quarter into a rosebush filled with spiders. Yeah, you can get in there but it's not going to be wonderful. I think I can beat it without flying poison myself, but not really sure I want to go back in time to pre-nerf Genius/Trajectory Simulator. Trajectory Simulator remains a point that breaks me before I've even started the match. Yesterday a trajectory flung bomblet got 3 of my ships... for 6 hits/crits spread through'em... Sure, I dove in but I did knowing his own ships would be in the blast zone. Um... Apparently collateral damage is fine?

So what you're saying is, they weren't even good enough to win with ego.

If Ghost/Fenn players are Potatoes are Ego players Freedom Fries?

Ok... now I can't help but thinking that about these so-called potatoes. Should Fenn/Ghost players be fried and covered in salt?

Nah, but there opponents typically are.

Right, I forgot FSR2. The only player to run it here was my son, and he made his own tweaks to it. He swapped Jess for a Liberator with commandos and selflessness and had Sabine's masterpiece and black market slicer tools on Rex. He actually BSM a lightweight Scyk off the board with Rex since the card was a direct hit, which was hilarious. He was 2-1 (or 3-1) with it, only losing to a Dash Miranda because he split off his group a bit too early.

I prefer being covered in salt. Then I can pretend to be on Crait defending against The First Order with my Rebels that accidentally jumped into the future via some hyperspace accident. If I'm fried then I'm just dead like all my opponents ;)
