I've kept alt-arts of ships athat I actually fly and acrylic stuff I can actually use, but for the rest I either give to new players, or recently- Mailing to Peru.

I did win a Spot Gloss Miranda recently, but that went straight to Ebay. As a follow up, mine sold for $120, but Ebay history has it as going for over $200 in the past. Why are people paying that much for a small plastic square?

The first ones came out at exactly the right time for the ships popularity, and no one had any idea how rare theyd be.

I always tell people they should buy acrylic templates and rulers because the cardboard ones warp and wear down over time, but i will never understand buying everything else. "Oh man what were you flying when you got those top 4 templates?"

"Oh I paid $150 for them"

This is the one I don’t understand at all. I always make it a point to ask my opponent how they got their templates or non traditional cards or tokens.

You know that’s got to be a psychological blow if they didn’t win them.

What if they used Ghost/Fenn to win them?

Basically war criminals

I bought my first alt arts after over 2 years of playing. I'm a sucker for Boba and there's no other way to get the non SOS scum card. Same for the inquisitor, there was no way I'd make it to world that year and no other way to get it. Since I've been jonesing for those 2 for a long, long while without changing my mind, I figured I might as well.

My sparklies were won, and they roll horrible for anyone else for some illogical reason (my son keeps wanting to try to use them and they come back quickly). My orange templates are in a bag still because I like my white and gold cog o two better but they're the rarest thing I won, so they're like a trophy.

I like all the alt arts I've won though, even though I could probably sell quite a few I never use, though that Lothal is popular now ;)

I should caveat, I totally support paying for alt arts, they're cool and ususally more about the characters or art. I get a much warmer feeling looking at Dennis Lawson or I guess my face now when I play wedge than I do when I look at the generic t65 photo.

I've got an unopened action figure to go with that card. Ten, Wedge and Arvel in a three pack.

Only alt art I'd consider buying would be Wedge, and the price is nuts. Maybe I'll give up some regional dice or national target locks for it.

Alright so...I think I am beginning to change my opinion about Ghost/Fenn. I had previously played against and beaten it repeatedly with PS11 Vader/QD so I wasn't as salty about it initially. But just recently I put it on the table myself to help a friend practice. Never have used a VCX before in my life. He was running a hard counter with Expertise and Action-less mods everywhere. Lost game one since I didnt really understand how to keep Fenn in a good spot. Second game won 100-0 without breaking a sweat against what was basically a direct counter to the list. Ghost lost half pts but that was it.

My impression after using it is that this is Rebel RAC/Lo. The VCX feels like RAC if he could shoot twice (Excluding: Gunner/Vader) thanks to the PS11 Coordinate boost.

If they fix this specific list its just gonna evolve into something else next wave.

  • Coordinate Boost = RAC Lothal
  • Ezra/Maul/FCS = Range 2-3 Autoblaster with Ezra filling in for RACs pilot ability
  • Fenn = ISTDs 2.0, though it allows counterplay
  • 4 Dice Primary weapon front & rear
  • FAA on Fenn & Vectored Thrusters allows double reposition at PS11
  • I could put Tactician on Fenn and shutdown most of the Expertise stuff people are considering

Personal preference here of course but the only decisions I found interesting about it:

  • Keeping Fenn close to the Ghost and with stuff in Arc. Its not unlike Quickdraw or Norra.
  • The first two rounds of movement avoiding putting Fenn in a bad spot are at least thought provoking.
  • Playing around crits on the Ghost adds variety

Outside of that this thing makes FSR2 look like Countdown/Sabacc/Duchess/Gunboat.

Whats most confusing is looking at the cards....the combo of Ezra & Maul seems like it was specifically designed for the VCX simply due to theme.

This feels like it was a very intentional design decision to buff the use of TLT on the VCX.

Its still beatable and maybe a net positive is that it will encourage more players to use 3+ ship lists over time. The most obvious counter is similar to how you bottom table RAC/Lo in swiss with 3-4 ships that can all do damage and hit from multiple angles.

Off to a small tournament tomorrow. I'm bringing stress Ezra and Fenn Rau to deal with Fenn/Ghost. Low and Jess to back those two up.

I may need vodka to mask the tears of failure after.

Hey, who won the big game today?

Why? I like my customized Litko sets better than anything I've won.

Ironically, one of the alt arts I have held onto because it was my first.

Speaking of rac/kylo...

You get a perfect rac with kyllo palp and engine. a ps generic silencer (ptl adv sensors and all the jazz) into 100 pts.

Generic silencer is equivalent to kylo anyways with all the 11 around. And you can fix that easily enough with a couple shots of damaged cockpit.

Is blackouts ability really better then getting the correct build on rac?

I mean..this out to be a wining list right?

Did someone in Nashville just stomp a couple GhostFenn with Expertise Rey and Nym for the regional win?

Really?

$10 bucks says it had synched turret

At best that looks like a 50/50 matchup vs ghost fenn.

The VCX can still push out tons of damage on Rey very quickly.

Suppose we will be seeing more Tactician Fenns soon?

This Threed needs to get back on topic

Krayts On TOP!

Im bringing my Rac, Vi, Reb captive, Kylo and vader + EU just to decapitate that "#¤#%#" Fenn in his shiny shuttel, And then quickdraw will do the sweeeping.

The final game is on twitch, the rey player setup well, the ghost player players decision making was not good. He accepted a straight joust against rey and a harpoon carrier, then he self bumped into rey, letting rey sloop behind him at r1 and nym 2turn and end up at r1 out of arc. I suspect he had gotten all the way to the top table that way and the rey player was the only one to punish him for it.

I have noted that you can use a large base ship to cut off the ghosts boost angles for a turn, but your ghost fenn opponent has to allow it by striaght jousting you, and jumpmaster aside, there's not a ton of super cheap options to do it.

I unironically have a dumb u-wing list I’m about to start testing, it’s cheaper than an outer rim smuggler. Please give me the “have you thought about a 27 point bid” comments now.

People are apparently incapable of anything other than straight Jousts so honestly...U-Wings might be fine...

I was planning on having it as a cheap big base with a stop and a white hard turn, but if everyone is just going to joust anyway I guess it has an okay gun...

edit: no! I was looking for people to talk me out of self-sabotage!

I will never talk you out of using 3 intel agent U Wings with Advanced Sensors and Engine Upgrade and 1 advanced proton torpedo.

edit: Also is Rey the best Arc dependent rebel ship? It is right?

Heh, you're most likely going to be sad vs the field. But you may not be horribly wrong.

Have you thought about four U-Wings? Only one less health each than quad Wookiees, one additional agility, and same final salvo?

*(Casually ignores the fact that Wookiees can reinforce)*

Also takes up 4x the space for blocking.
