Carolina Krayts is the best X-Wing podcast

IMO, it's even worse with generic bombs. A proton to the face to start an engagement can mean various horrible things. In my trial run, I got damaged engine on a Ghost that had just k-turned (sadly, I didn't get the same on Dash, that would have been awesome). A blinded pilot could be especially depressing, since it basically neuters part of the counterplay. I also got a console fire on Biggs, who had no chance to try and clear it before it first triggered.

As I've said many times in the last few days, I really don't like the list, but for regional prep, people need to learn to fly against it and someone had to fly it. You do not want to face it for the first time during a tournament that matters.

Oh... worse/better:

I mean the trajectory simulator is BETTER without bomblet (as in, the list should be using stuff like protons and thermals with trajectory).

Bomblet should be on miranda.

I went with "worse" as in "what it feels to play it/against it". Arguably, it's a (much) "better" list to win with.

I care about the "feels", it's a game, it shouldn't be depressing to play. For either player.

I guess when all the decisions make sense individually, it is often difficult to see the bigger picture. Maybe FFG have a balancing change, release or FAQ in the works, and are willing to manage this bad period in preparation for the release of that change .

But are we ok with this? It almost seems inevitable that right when they get around to fixing this mess, there will be another dumpster fire to put out, and by the time they put that out, another starts, meaning with the frequency of new releases, we will never have a meta that has been “fixed”.

I don’t have the answers, but it also isn’t like crazy interactions are being found out of nowhere that are busting new and unexpected things. Miranda’s been considered one of if not thee best ship in the game for some time. Nym has been on top tables since his first day on the job. Asajj has been a key cog in nearly every top tier scum list even BEFORE the true jumpmaster nerf.

As crazy as it sounds after the deep digging nerfs we saw in the latest FAQ update, there is a real possibility they aren’t digging deep enough. A hit to Sabine crew, TLT, Miranda, Asajj and Nym (or perhaps more appropriately, the Havoc title) may have seemed like an overstep at the time, but now? Hardly.

Alternatively, we could all just, you know, accept that there is always going to be something that at the very least feels broken that floats to the top and do our best to either counter it or just join the team.

But that seems stupid.

trajectory simulator is better WITHOUT bomblet - many nym miranda lists are actually super un-optimized (which should scare everyone).

And yes - the problem is keeping ships with a large number of upgrade slots (and in particular, certain permutations of slots), in balance as new things are introduced.

Yep. Look at Cardiff and the Tragedy of Nym on an endless loop there.

back in the super-dark times of wave 11 before the nerf (when my collection was stolen and I was wondering if I should even bother buying back in), I had almost given up hope of FFG releasing a FAQ, so I was trying to make a community one.

The list of stuff on there for nerfs was Biggs, Advanced Slam, Guidance Chips, TLT, Bomblet, Mindlink, the Jumpmaster, the Scurrg's EPT slot, Harpoon Missiles, Stressbot, K4, Cad Bane, Regen, Stealth Device, Kylo Ren, Auzitucks/Reinforce, and Advanced Sensors.

The list of stuff on there for Buffs was the T-65, TIE Interceptor, TIE Punisher, Firespray, and adding some EPT's to pilots.

The list of things that needed to be clarified was Constable Zuvio, Lieutenant Dormitz, Sabine, and Minefield Mapper.

They got to some of the changes(and I wasn't expecting them to buff anything in the FAQ as it was an emergency patch), but RAW, Dormitz can still place himself anywhere on the map, Zuvio can drop bombs that he doesn't have equipped, and Sabine is still a mandatory trigger.

I'm of the opinion that FFG needs to have a big nerf/buff-ageddon to shape the game to what they want it to look like, and from there be much more conservative with new ships.

What is with this thread? Are the Krayts the new gunboat?

Yes, I don‘t know what‘s going on. Krayts are suddenly wholesome and everyone else goes crazy.

sad. I went to time 4 times at regionals this weekend.... why did I goto time? because the Kryats told me too. every time... it was the right decision.

Hey, I mean... we all want to kill stuff.

But sometimes, and especially now, the meta won't let us. But the meta wins when we try to adhere to it's silly point fortressing, defensive ways.

Someday, we will all burn all lists to the ground with a gunner vader RAC... but today is not that day.

PS11 kylo says... I choose when you get to hit me. spoiler alert, there are 30 mintues left and you have a Y Wing... your not gonna hit me. but your TLT and my lack of title says... I'd rather not play x-Wing.

I am definitely not saying Kylo (aka, high PS advanced sensors with green moves) is okay, but I am saying holy **** he's fun.

I'm about half way through the latest. I don't mean this in an unkind way, and I'm not sure the best way to ask, but... how drunk was Travis (on whatever scale one measures this by)? Also, I admire your ability to speak about X-Wing coherently while that inebriated.

VI FCS Kylo didn't mind the lack of ADV Sensors. but he sure did smack people around pretty good.

defining moment: miranda 2 banks forward after dropping a thermal. she has minimal hull left. he looks at me and says "i don't believe you" Kylo screams in 5 forward, boost into R1. took a thermal/sabine for 2 shields, then wipes Miranda out of the galaxy. "how about now?"

@Tlfj200 @drjkel I agree, I guess I just started to question myself after seeing the majority. Not very Krayt-ish of me...

It has a new descendant. Not as powerful as the original of the "burn it all down" family, but it got me to top 16 in chicago and I'm terrible.

HLC Crack Shot Rhos and Optics Quickdraw. Frontload as much damage as possible, and maintain constant damage afterwards. Shame about the really bad Poe/Dash matchup.

How many of these do you need? 50?

Also, I'm still annoyed that I had to play Dash Poe 3 times out of 8.

Except the round that Dash decided to wholesomely jousted you. That had to be less annoying.

um... more than 6? I wasn't specifically counting... less than 10?

Approximately?

I came back from the convention to Travis who was halfway through what ended up being a three digit tab on drinks and a glass that was multiple feet tall. I'm amazed we got him home.
