A-Wing = F104 Starfighter

Come on people!

perfect

TIE SF is P-61. Not too fast, has fancy systems, a gunner, and ordnance (Sure, its a bomb, but it can't be perfect).

Perfect.

The original TIE Fighter is the Mig 17, right? It's a fighter, itsccheap to operate, and it outperforms bigger and more expensive fighters when the pilots know what they're doing.

Ok fine....than what Star Wars ship is this?

SR-71A_in_flight_near_Beale_AFB_1988-840

I feel like the SR-71 could just be in Star Wars.

It was in Firefly! It made a cameo flying in the background behind the floating islands in Trash.

Is it whisper with no guns?

No...its Palob without a turret.

Cool looking but can't do damage.

Palob without a turret. Thanks man. Now there is coffee on my screen.

The 5 green straight on the Silencer is a good parallel to right?

Not sure if its true or not but I remember hearing stories of SR-71 pilots just pushing the throttle forward a bit to fly faster than the missiles shot at them.

Sounds like an Advanced Sensors, Boost Barrel Roll, 5 green straight to me :)

Maybe with Black One Title?

Imagine if the Kylo Silencer also had Black One....

Cloacked hwk is a pretty good one, the other that came to mind is actually intel agent jumpmaster with burn out slam. It's a fast intelligence aircraft that can basically go anywhere

Intel Jumpmaster sounds about right or an Intel Agent Hwk.

Alright reverse question....what real life ship are these:

Imperial Raider

Firespray

Millenium Falcon

There is a correct answer.

Struggling to think of a good match for the falcon for some reason.

Ugh. So played at one of the regionals against a top player (they ended up being in the final four) and I’ve lost one of two Rho boats but I shoot Quickdraw and pop Kanan with Shuttle still docked... player says they’re not sure how dead Ghost with docked phantom works... I say, -1 Hull, and I know there is other limitations. He calls a judge over and judge says there needs to be a place to legally move or dead.

Out comes the phantom and it shoots at its init, rolls 4 natties, greens betray, and 1 shield QD dies... judge walks away

I have an unracked Rho vs Fenn Rau and Zeb and run and try to get a shot off but lose.

Telling Rebel player buddy about it today, he says “what? Shuttles can’t fire when launched like that”

WTF. Guess a lot more people are bad at X-Wing then I thought.

Me (I knew that already), for not looking it up myself, opponent for not knowing his own list’s rules (not at all chapped at him, didn’t know, asked), judge (seriously!!) for radically altering my game by changing QD with a Rho after killing a Ghost (yes Rho for Ghost any day) to Rho on the run.

I'm pretty sure the only person that knows how a ghost world is balake.

If someone wants to send a scan of the ghost rules inset to us, I'll put it on the Facebook page and try and convince @Brunas to put it in the show notes. It really is a problem that no one knows how the **** thing works and unlike other rules insets its not easily googled.

It annoys the #$%^ out of me that rules inserts aren't widely available, but the fact that they aren't is at least a mild indication that FFG doesn't want them to be. I have scans of every rules insert, and I'd make them available myself if I weren't a-feared.

So be cautious. I doubt posting the scan to FB is fair use. (Although posting the specific deployment rules probably is.)

It doesn't help that there are three ships with deployment rules, and they're all three fairly subtly different.

Man i didn't even think about the legal aspect, cuting down to just the rule section should be okay right?

I would think so, but don't take this as actual legal advice! (Generally, "fair use" applies to small excerpts for, among other things, teaching. It's tough for me to see how it wouldn't apply here.)

There may or may not be github repos that have scanned images of all the cards. If THAT gets a pass, I doubt a scan of a rulesheet that is commonly misplayed would be a problem.

Well considering this one was inspired by it...

Not only do they look very similar, but both are weaponless as well.

A-Wing = SR-71?

I would still lean towards A-10 = K-Wing due to lots of firepower, hard to destroy, and large planky wings.

The rest of your comparisons are really good, and I love your passion on this! :)

Our next air show is in 2019 when we get the Thunderbirds! If you're interested, here are my shots of previous airshows: https://sirjorj.smugmug.com/Airplanes

And the F-22 Raptor is the most amazing flying craft you will ever see!

I have seen the f22 up close, in the air and on the ground, living in Wisconsin we have the eaa air show, i can't make it every year but it's an absolute blast.

Raider2big unless we borrow from ace combat. The firespray is kind of unique too, didn't mandalorian motors design it as a patrol/law craft initially? Falcon too, there's really not a modern aircraft thats a hyper manueverable turret with superior speed.

Raider is basically an Arleigh Burke right? We're getting into naval analogies at this point, not airpower. Similarly, the Falcon is a commerce raider or merchantman, depending on the era you're looking at.

I’d say the raider as seen outside X-Wing (BF2) is more of a Tone.
