Just need clarification: one our heroes found the 'staff of light' in our RtL campaign, 'Kindred Fire'. Does he keep it throughout the duration of the campaign or just the mission? The app advised that he found it and can equip it immediately.

It's his to keep, just like if you had found a shop card in a treasure chest.

I didn't think the 'treasure chest' cards were meant to be kept in the search card pile when playing with the app?

No, you do not play with the Treasure Chest card when playing with the app. Zaltyre was just giving you an example of an event that occurs that allows you to keep an item throughout a campaign.

He is correct. Any relics you find while playing RTL are yours to keep, until the completion of the app's campaign.
