Blank Action Card Templates

By Iffo, in WFRP Gamemasters

Yesterday I took some time and made a copyright-free action card templates for both sides. The layout is similar to the original action cards and each section has enough room to fit a reasonable amount of content. Both images are sized at 300dpi to print in the original card size. You can find them in the utilities section of Hammerzeit.

If anybody wants the PSD template for these, just ping me with your email address and I'll send it to you. For some reason it couldn't upload to Hammerzeit. The PSD has text and symbol samples, but you will need the dice symbol font and some shapes for the card types - maybe I'll add them to the file later.

Nice one. Now it would be nice to have the symbols for card type as well. Then you could build your own cards :)

Ah, sorry forgot to update you guys - I added some generic symbols plus the dice symbols from the WRFP3 font file I got from this forum. You can send me an email if you want the PSD file.

Forgive my ignorance of the forums software this forum uses, but I don't see a means to send you a PM, and I don't see your email listed on your profile. So how does one send you a message, other than publicly as a post like this one?

A shame that the old EON plugin for wfrp 3ed wasn't allowed by FFG. It has all the cards you need except item cards, and tactics have no back side. But apart from that everything is there and working fine. I created 8 new spells yesterday, printed on my colour laser printer and laminated... They look perfect in every way. If someone could make an EON plugin for all the card types without the copyright issues so everyone could enjoy how easy it is to create your own cards it would be amazing.

Not that it will stop me buying supplements however. I just bought the adventurers pack and it's great. But for non standard items I really like giving my players an item card when they aquire it, to keep things in the spirit of the game. I just use the location cards in EON for items, as I don't use those in the game.

stupid forums

Hi iffo, These cards are quite impressive. With your permission, i'd like to use these templates in the Strange Eons extension.

If you wish to create additional templates for any cards (wounds, items and so on..), you're welcome

These are pretty impressive, and it would be great if they were added to the SE extension. I've been looking to create some decent-looking, custom action cards for a while now and it seems like this may be my chance, (seeing as how I missed the boat on DL'ing the original SE extension while it was still available).

My email is: i (dot) belchev (at) gmail (dot) com

Ping me there for the PSD... When I have some spare time I'll get some hosting set up to upload files.

As for other cards - yeah I'm thinking of making more. Please let me know which card types should be next. Also let me know if any of you guys is working on others so we don't waste time doing the same thing.

You can use my templates for whatever you want.

I have a question about SE (this is all new to me) - does it support higher resolution backgrounds for the card templates? The ones that were in the original WFRP3 plugin were pretty lo-rez so I was wondering abut that.

On another note - I'm a graphics and web designer but I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, so it'd be great if someone can make a good set of icons for the action types. Alternatively if FFG are cool with it, someone can vectorize the original icons from the action cards.

Hurlanc is workin on Career cards. I am working on a set in line art to make it easy to print. I am using parts of your action cards as a base for the line art conversion of the action card.

I am pretty sure that it is possible. As far as I know the Arham cards have a higher resolution.

I am trying to set up a forum as a place to discuss and push the development of the SE plugin. I have send the link already to Iffo and the others i found here taking on the SE plugin, but I wanted to share this here also. The link is: www.vendolis.org/forum
It is still empty at the moment, but i hope we can bundle all the ideas and comments to the plugin there so they don't get lost in this official forums.

It is also a place where you can upload your files so others can find and download them.

Great work people... very nice to have such creative persons in the community!

Well i made some career cards, but you can make your own too. As i said in the main SE thread, i plan to add multiple templates for the same type of cards. In a few weeks we'll have in the SE menu :

- Career Card - Artwork by Hurlanc
- Career Card - Artwork by Iffo
- Career Card - Artwork by Haku
- Action Card - Artwork by Iffo

and so on ...

iirc most wanted cards are : action, career, talent, item, follower

and maybe later : wounds, party, location, physical and mental effects

some templates don't even exist in FFG' set of cards :
- mutation and disease
- npc cards / npc action cards
- maybe people may think about virtues and flaws ...

SE default resolution is 150dpi, unless i specify something else in the code.
i believe the best is to design in this resolution, it's fairly enough for what we plan to do with it.

Thanks for summing this all up. I was thinking of something else too - complete monster cards - with monster stats and all their actions ...all that the size of a regular career card. What do you think?

According to the WFRP3 plugin I have now it's 300 dpi.

sounds great !

Hey guys,

My version of the career card background is done. Email me at i.belchev (~at~) gmail.com for the PSD (sorry, I haven't set up a hosting for my files yet)

Iffo has posted them now to download on the SE Pluigin forum: www.vendolis.org/forum/viewforum.php

These are the PSD files. I will work on putting them into SE Plugin during the coming week. Will post when the new version is up.

I think that sounds handy. I guess you could have two or three actions in the bottom if you scale them. or two at bottom and one up the side... ok I think I'll try and make a sketch, see how it fits.

Hmm. tryed fiddling around with it but I think the scale will be too small on the actions. some monster have up to 4 action cards which cant fit ona career sized card even if you make them the size of wound cards. I think it would probably be better to have an action card size for monster stats and then just the actions beside it like Mark Theurer did.
