Yeah and having Carnor Jax against a K-Wing bomber (or...three of them) results in an auto-loss.

In a tournament with all Imperials, they have a shot ?
7 hours ago, Admiral Deathrain said:Yeah and having Carnor Jax against a K-Wing bomber (or...three of them) results in an auto-loss.
Well, the triple K list (flown by someone that took them to the final of one regional and the top 8 of two more, all of which were between 60 and 100 people) lost twice to the Carnor/Tomax/Quickdraw list in this tournament.
15 minutes ago, clanofwolves said:In a tournament with all Imperials, they have a shot ?
I believe that the overall winner played against a Dengar/Asajj list (won) and a Ketsu/Bossk (lost), so imperial lists are popular here but the large ship scum lists are not at all uncommon despite what the top 8 would seem to indicate =).

Discover Games Store championship in Fayetteville, GA today
20 players. 4 rounds of Swiss with a cut to top 4

2nd-Timothy B.- Chewbacca with Rage, C-3PO, Rey andTitle(evade). Captain Rex with Title and Inspiring Recruit. Lowhhrick with PTL, Jyn Erso and Jan Ors.
Results from yesterday's Store Championship at The Complex in Scarborough, Maine - 22 players
1st - Derek S (4-0 Swiss, 2nd seed)
Biggs w/ R4-D6, Integrated Astro
Jess Pava w/ R2-D6, Selflessness, Integrated Astro, Primed Thrusters
Captain Rex
Lowhrick, Draw Their Fire, Rey, Breach Specialist
2nd - Matt C [me] (3-1 Swiss, 4th seed)
Dengar w/ Attani Mindlink, Punishing One, Overclocked R4, Latts Razzi, Countermeasures
Fenn Rau w/ Attanni Mindlink, Concord Dawn Protector, Autothrusters
Inaldra w/ Attanni Mindlink, Light Scyk Interceptor
Note: the final was a bit weird since life intervened and I had to leave with 30 mins still left on the round. Derek and I decided that a final salvo with the ships still on the board at that time would be the fairest resolution. I had a 1 hull Dengar, 3 hull Fenn, full health Inaldra vs. 1 hull Biggs (stunned pilot), 1-2 shield/full hull Lowhrick. Derek won the salvo and got the plaque.
Top 4:
Brian F (4-0 Swiss, 1st seed, eliminated by me)
Starkiller Base Pilot w/ Collision Detector, Palpatine
Quickdraw w/ Veteran Iinstincts, Special Ops Training, Fire Control System, Pattern Analyzer, Lightweight Frame
Omega Leader w/ Juke, Comm Relay
Harrison W (3-1 Swiss, 3rd seed, eliminated by Derek, had beat me in round 3 of Swiss)
Quickdraw w/ Veteran Instincts, Special Ops Training, Cruise Missiles, Guidance Chips
Darth Vader w/ Veteran Instincts, x1 title, Advanced Targeting Computer, Cruise Missiles, Guidance Chips
Inquisitor w/ Veteran Instincts, v1 title, Cruise Missiles, Guidance Chips
We had only 1 wave 11 ship played that I saw (Derek's Auzituk) and very few Wave 11 upgrades (Harrison's Cruise Missiles). I was surprised to see no Scurrgs.

Huh. That's at least the second Top 4 finish for that list this weekend. Surprising to see it multiple places -- who puts VI on Inquisitor?

27 player SC from Portland's Guardian Games: http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=3148
I placed second to Noa P's Dash/Miranda. I was rocking a "Fair Ship Rebel" (Biggs/Rex/Jess/Lowhhrick) variant. Tournament had a nice mix of Rebel, Scum and Imperial. Because of a late start and early store close we had to compress it to 3 rounds + cut to swiss, and @blairbunke came down to co-TD the event (last minute thing). He went undefeated in Swiss but withdrew from the cut to allow others to pursue glory. He was rocking a creative Wave 11 five Imp list:
Sienar Specialist + Twin Laser Turret + Lightweight Frame
Scimitar Squadron Pilot + Tie Shuttle + Lightweight Frame + Operations Specialist
Scimitar Squadron Pilot + Unguided Rockets x3 (100)

Fenn Rau - Attani Mindlink, Autothrusters, Concord Dawn Protector
Inaldra - Attani Mindlink, Light Scyk Interceptor
OK, so see if my summary is right.
The base of the list is 96 points:
Biggs + R4-D6 + IA (26)
Lowhhrick + Draw Their Fire* (28)
Jess + R2-D6 + Selflessness* + IA (27)
Captain Rex (14)
* can swap these two EPTs around, as long as one is on Jess and the other is on Lowhhrick
Sozin, Portland, 27 players: 6-1 (2nd)
Derek S., Maine, 22 players: 6-0 (lost 4 ships total, did not lose Biggs)
Paul Heaver [not sure of player count offhand]: 4-0. (lost 2 ships entire tournament)
Glenn D, Michigan, 28 players: 7-0
Have there been any other sightings of this list in SC over the weekend? It looks like it has a combined win ratio of 23-1. It hit its hard counter of Dash+Miranda in Sozin's loss.

Having flown against it, I think 75 min rounds really help it out. In the 120 min final I played against it, I think I only had been able to take out Rex at the 75 minute mark, but it started to fall apart much faster after that since most of the damage is being redirected instead of being outright blocked. At 90 mins (playing at a pretty relaxed pace) I had pulled ahead on points and was starting to snowball it. It is still a joust list that has to fly as a single block and mostly just has a single focus per ship for modifications, so it's not a crazy offensive powerhouse if you can avoid some arcs or keep it k-turning/stressed. I think the issue is that it takes time to get the damage in and if you are impatient to do so you are going to take more damage than you're dealing. I think the list is beatable, though it takes a good pace of play to make that happen in 75 mins, which is tricky the first time you are flying against it and trying to figure out how to go about that. That said, I don't think this sort of list is good for the game - it narrows viable builds which is not what we should be looking for as we add mechanics to the game.
40 minutes ago, MajorJuggler said:It hit its hard counter of Dash+Miranda in Sozin's loss.
I take it Dash/Miranda wins by just arc dodging/bumping all the time and wearing them down over time with HLC + TLT + Bombs? Playing keep-away also means they may often be at range 3 of only part of the enemy list, which creates opportunities to attack someone other than Biggs if they want to.

@MajorJuggler I was the one that won the Maine tourney. I lost 4 total ships over the course of the 6 games.
I'm almost certain that Heaver went 4-0 in the 11 person Store Championship, no cut, and he didn't lose a ship all day.
I had the chance to go up against Glenn in the Michigan Store Champ in Swiss where he was my only loss in Swiss. Bombs and controlling range with TLT is definitely one of the better counters to it (I ran Miranda/Nym both with TLT). I had personally never ran Miranda before and could've done a lot better using my Cluster Mines, but it was a really close fight where Lowhhrick finished off Miranda with only 2-3 health left as the last ship left standing. Guaranteed bomb damage plus Selflessness/DTF not having much to help mitigate TLT damage, ALTHOUGH Lowhhrick's ability can definitely help Biggs dodge one of the TLT shots.
Don't think the (small) MJ's Store Champ in Wasilla AK ever was reported. http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=3025
