Quick Update: I'm still not a store champ.

Come to the Tier 1 one in Temecula. It's the same day as a game empire's so you won't be facing any of the other Mynocks and the guy is like charging $20 and is a super small store. I'm expecting like 20 people max. That's where Talonbane can win.

Last weekend at Petrie's in Colorado Springs I went top 4, losing to the eventual winner:

1st John Grasser: Braylen/Rex/Jess/Biggs

2nd Paul Fuller: Dengar/Bossk

Top4: Jacob Claussen with Miranda/Corran and myself with Soontir/Whisper/Omega Leader

21 people attended, 4 rounds and top 4

He didnt sound very "people friendly" on the phone. He was going on about "mercenaries" coming to his store and stealing the championship from one of his regulars. It's annoying because I know that some stores that WANTED to host a championship werent able to for whatever reason, and this joker is sitting on a tournament kit that will go to waste :/

*ebay.

It'll go on ebay in 6 months. Although Goodbye Regional round 1 bye included.

Welp, I channeled my inner Biophysical today and won a Store Champ with Quickdraw. This was at Epic Loot in Centerville, OH, June 24th. There were 30 players I believe.

Winner: Hasan Khan

Quickdraw: Expertise + Fire-Control System + Pattern Analyzer + Lightweight Frame + Spec Ops Training

Omega Leader: Juke + Comm Relay

Colonel Vessery: Crack Shot + Twin Ion Engine Mk II + TIE/x7

Runner Up: Justin

Quickdraw: Adaptability + Fire-Control System + Lightweight Frame + Spec Ops Training

Backdraft: Veteran Instincts + Fire-Control System + Lightweight Frame + Spec Ops Training

Colonel Vessery: Juke + TIE/x7

Top 4:

Bobby Crowley

Quickdraw: Adaptability + Fire-Control System + Lightweight Frame + Spec Ops Training

Backdraft: Veteran Instincts + Fire-Control System + Lightweight Frame + Spec Ops Training

Soontir Fel: Push the Limit + Autothrusters + Stealth Device + Royal Guard TIE

Adam (undefeated in Swiss)

Poe Dameron: Adaptability + R5-P9 + Pattern Analyzer + Autothrusters

Nien Nunb: Snap Shot + R3-A2 + Primed Thrusters + Integrated Astromech

Jess Pava: M9-G8 + Integrated Astromech

3 Imperials in the Top 4 and 1 Rebel (3xT-70s!). Zero Scum. All three Imperial lists had Quickdraw. There were a total of 5 TIE/sfs in the Top 4. The Runner Up list is nearly identical to the one SOTL flies. Guys, I think the TIE/sf might be pretty good. Just sayin'...

Sorry, I left all that info with the store.

So, any predictions on how Wave 11 dropping in a couple weeks is going to mess with the last few store champs? I'm expecting to see a lot of people playing with all the new shiny toys, and a few clever folks bringing existing ships that make good counters.

There's hope my main moisture man. I've been playing since 2014 and won my first SC recently :D

I think it will push jumps even further to the top. More tlt, which they don't mind nearly as much as other ships, and more bombs, which they also don't mind as much as other ships.

That's the doom and gloom outlook though.

As for the ships, I expect the Scurrg to see a lot of play, and I suspect Nym in both factions will find a healthy place in the game. It just has way too many good upgrade options not to see play. I'm a little worried about bombs now, but waiting to see if they really warp the game or not.

Tie Aggressor is pretty boring, but the abilities are interesting at least. Worst case scenario, it's the equivalent of the ywing as a tlt platform.

Auzituck is a wild card. I have no idea if it is barely usable or amazing. The mid PS ability is getting a lot of hype, but I think the dial will make it hard for him to cover Biggs past the first exchange.

It'll be a wildcard influence, but overal I expect minimal impact. The top stuff is way too good to be moved by anything in Wave 11.

Unless there also is a big FAQ drop with the release that is how I'd imagine it going, too. If there is however we will be in a rather interesting spot, where quad TLT will try and inch its way back to higher tables, but then be wrecked by Autothrusting ships, which in turn tend to be rather weak to bombs, who on the other hand really don't like quad TLT. With Attanni lists theoreticaly out of the picture, neither party seems to be overwhelmingly good, making for a meta that is very far from an equilibrium. That does not consider many other variables, though, for example how the wood-thing fits in here (can be paired with any of the pillars, is strong relatively against both aces and bombs, but maybe not enough so).

Fantasy Shop Store Championship in St. Charles, MO. 26 players, 5 rounds, cut to top 4.

Winner: Backdraft and Quickdraw, both with Homing Missiles, and Omega Leader as third ship.

2nd: triple scouts, Mindlink and Intel Agent with torpedoes.

3rd (lost to second): Quickdraw, Backdraft, Fel (me)

4th (lost to 1st): Kylo Rac with Backdraft. Beat a Determination Rey build to make the cut.

Impressively, first overall was undefeated in Swiss and beat the Jumpmaster list twice during the course of the day. So congratulations on a 7-0 run.

I was the Rey/Poe list. Not popping Countermeasures on that one turn is going to haunt me for a while. Don't think my MOV would have got me in the top 4, even if I'd won that game...that's the only thing which will help me sleep at night.

That's rough. I've had stuff like that happen. It's gut-wrenching sometimes.

It's alright. Learn from the mistakes and git gudder!

I love Rey too much to abandon her. Got that same Rey with either Captain Nym or Miranda with Bomblets queued up!

Fantastic!

What was the starting point as far as mix? Approximately haha.

Anyone have cut for the tourney from the Nova region where Rey + Jan beat out Old Fennaroo at the top?

Love be to see results like that.

I don't have exact numbers but I remember the faction split being very even to start. My own matchups were 3-2-2 in terms of Rebel-Imperial-Scum. So about as even as you can get.
