I wonder how the competetive level on Euros compares to worlds, because apparently the overall opinion seems to be that we all fly lists that are suboptimal or require no skill

Seems like an odd list as only quickdraw can vessery a target lock. Tie Strikers don't have it.

I was playing with a list of Ion Vessery + Juke Ryad + Sabbac. Good list but if Ryad dies then vessery essentially loses his potent ability. I am going to swap out sabbac for Omega Leader.

This is well known and fairly successful archetype "the Gambit". Seen ie. in the Mustafar Open final, or Dublin regionals final.

Quickdraw TL is enough. Nobody wants to shoot him at start as it puts you in danger of retaliation shots and raw firepower of double tap Vessery or 4 dice Sabacc is what makes them better target.

I like that list, but often substitute Expertise on Vessery for VI+Tie MK 2 and a 2 pts bid

With VI on Vess, tractor starts to look like a pretty good option instead of Ion Cannon. But what would you do with the remaining 4-5 pts?

Edit: Just saw that someone was running that list with expertise on Vess but with TB and Decoy on QD. That might work...

I´ve tried Tractor Beam on Vessery, but prefer Ion.
The guarantied damage from Ion works is imo better and against large ships Ion has both damage and effect after 2 shots where Tractor is often wasted.

With FCS on QD you don't really need anyone else (though it's nice to have). As long as Vessery's pointed at someone in one of QD's arcs, and QD's not blind, he's doling out the rerolls.

I've tried a couple versions of that particular list:

37 Quickdraw w/ Score, FCS, ConcussionM, LWF, Title.
38 Vessery w/ Crack, FletchetteC, TIE/D.
25 Pure Sabacc w/ Crack, LWF, Title.

It's actually not bad, especially if you can nuke a ship before it shoots.

There's also a variant that swaps in Omega Leader for Pure Sabacc, if you really want that second source of target locks. I've been mucking around with that version and it's also pretty solid.

The Mustafar open runner up version by Marc Sebo had expertise on both QD and vessery, with tractor beam on Vess.

I remember thinking it was odd that only QD could spot for Vessery, and only Saabac could benefit from the tractor beam. It certainly did well overall though.

Yeah, I think any mini-ace that likes to flank can be slotted in. Deathfire is also a decent choice. Something like this:

37 Quickdraw w/ Score, FCS, ConcussionM, LWF, Title.
37 Vessery w/ Crack, Tractor, TIE/D.
26 Deathfire w/ Concussion, EM, Prox, LRS.

Flank cautiously with Deathfire and come in hard with Vessery and Quickdraw, because I can guarantee from experience that Deathfire will be target number 1.

Quickdraw + swarm tactics + Fire-Control System + Special Ops Training + Lightweight Frame
Colonel Vessery + TIE/D + Tractor beam + Expertise

They point was to take the most of the tractor beam.

The downside is I cannot equip twin ion engines on Vessery.
