We've got a new house rule:
Roll a White die to cancel brief conditions. I'm thinking of doing the same thing to see if talents recharge.

to remember to roll a die compared to removing a token is not much of a difference. the only thing I see as possibly more interesting with this method is the random factor.
I'm doing the same thing in my game. I dislike people being able to metagame 'ah, my blindness will still last one more round, so you should only assist me on the next turn', so the added randomness is a boon. The average duration is still 3 rounds, since 1/3 of the fortune die sides are successes, so all's well.
