Flagship-Only Upgrades?

I'd try this:

A flagship of medium-large size gains one Fleet Support slot.

The Pelta is special in that it was a small ship that served as an effective flagship. Thus the slot on that ship's card.

The upgrades in this thread at Flagship based, not Fleet Support.

As it is, I don't find much use for Fleet Support in any of my lists.

A couple of Issues here.... where is the flagship keyword explained?

& you know have to create an Order in which ships are upgraded as until a ship is a flagship it cant have these upgrades but then why donot you for other upgrades (can of worms here with people asking for the Quasar to have a Rebel title......)

Motti should only work on medium and large ships. Maybe he wouldn't be spammed as much.

Back on topic, "Fleet Command" upgrades can and no doubt will be expanded and a facility to add them to other ships (even if medium/large only as has been suggested). The concentrate fire version is conspicuously absent (I think there will be more Eng/Sqn/Nav type ones also). Home One and Devastator are clear candidates, but any ISD/MC80 should also have access to them.

Or a few officers whose effect improves the higher your command value?

Flagship A flagship is a ship equipped with a commander card. Some objective cards include special rules for flagships.

• Any ship can be a flagship regardless of the upgrade icons in its upgrade bar.
• A fleet must have one flagship and cannot have more than one.
• Each flagship must be assigned a flagship ID token pair of the appropriate faction.

And I'm doing my best to parse out the bad grammar/autocorrect. Are you implying that you cannot equip these upgrades UNTIL you assign a flagship? If so, that is a similar scenario to the Quasar rebel title, but not quite. The Quasar could never be selected by Rebels since you need to grab the ship, and then assign upgrades. Where as the flagship slot can be assigned as soon as you pick a commander. And that is only if you follow the strictest order of operations when building fleets.

I tend to grab upgrades that I want and then pick my ships if I am doing a synergy style build. I also don't see any rule stopping anyone from picking a flagship upgrade before a commander and just waiting for a ship to put it on. The only time the lists are checked is AFTER the list has been built, not during. That also gets around the Quasar rebel title issue too, but it technically does not follow the list building rules.

RE flagship keyword.... oops forgot that... should really have double checked the RRG first

As to the rest, I'm saying that (like Minister Tua) the act of applying one upgrade then makes other upgrades permissible, so you are generating an order of applying upgrades but as you said the order seems to be so long as its all permissible at the end go for it.

Yea, I mean technically you are correct with fleet building. But unless you have a TO over your shoulder at the venue before you play, who is going to enforce the rules? It's one of those "ignored rules" since the end result is the only thing that matters. Granted, if you plan on printing off a fleet list, you do have to follow the order on Fabs and Warlords.

There are no rules for order of operations when fleet building. There is no rule that tells you when you must choose a Commander. You can pick one before you pick any ship and same goes for when you pick your flag ship, you can pick which ship will be your flag ship before you even start thinking about what upgrades you want.

It's all in your head and never had I heard any game having an order of operations in List Building, only "Do's and Don't's". There is no time when you Must pick a Commander, only that you must before you're done building a list.

And why why would it matter when anything about List Building even matter besides which Faction you're playing? I don't understand the issue.

It came up as a discussion about using the Imp Quasar as a Rebel ship IF there is a title that allows cross faction. If you play Rebels, you are not allowed to take an Imp ship. And to attach upgrades, you must be able to take the ship first. That's why I said there is an order of operations in regards to fleet building, but it's not enforceable. You can check on Warlords with Tua. You have to take Tua first before you can take a defensive upgrade. Same concept for taking the Quasar as Rebels.

Interesting. But as much as I would like to see a Rebel Quasar I think we won't unless they do a "Sabine Tie" concept we won't see that. New Ship Card, not an Upgrade.

(sleepy morning. Need more edits)

I don't want cross faction stuff so I'm fine with what we got. I really hope FFG doesn't do anything dumb like a whole squad of Sabine Tie/F.

And I'm good with that too.
