Machete order sucks in general, skipping over TPM, and in particular because of the new movies diluting everything. Where would you put Rogue One and Solo?
1-3, R1, 4-6 is my favourite order, and it's very flexible as it allows to add more movies, if for example someone made new movies set after 6 you could just add them at the end.

I think the Machete order is too harsh and critical of the prequels. Return of the Jedi is my favorite of the classic trilogy (despite the Ewoks,) because it brings needed closure to the saga. The Phantom Menace has an equally offensive issue with Jar Jar, yet for some reason most people give RotJ a pass with a caveat about teddy bears, while admonishing the entirety of TPM. Episode 1 is bad, but not so bad as to be completely irredeemable.
I had read that actor Topher Grace (of Spider-Man 3 and That 70's Show fame) had condensed the 3 prequels into a single film of about 85 minutes (caution: films under 100 minutes are usually very bad) that got rave reviews from the handful of friends he showed it to at a private viewing party. I'd very much like to see what he did, since we know he had 6 hours of material to work with.

That’s because
A. Jar jar is significantly worse than the ewoks. And
B. Most of the rest of Jedi is still good, while most of the rest of TPM is also terrible. The acting is atrocious, the pod race is interminable, the kid is at least as bad as the ewoks, the fake out queen is lame, the writing cringe worthy, many of the characters don’t tie in to the rest of the saga (qui-gon, Maul, Watto, all the misc Naboo, gungans). Basically, the only redeemable things in the film are the N-1s and the sword fight.

OK, so you touched on many points I've laid out before, but you are missing a few positives the movie brought:
In all seriousness, the film is not as complete disaster as most people make it out to be. I hate to sound like a prequel-apologist, but it's the most under-rated prequel movie, for sure; most everything that is wrong with Episode 1 is not made up for in the later 2 prequels, except for Jar Jar.

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. I'm assuming you don't watch the tv shows since maul has a large presence in both. Plus the gungans helped defend Mon Cala from a separatist invasion.
And even going by the movies only, Qui-Gon is arguably one of the most important characters to the saga as he both finds Anakin and promotes training him as well as discovering the path to immortality.

From a film-making standpoint, no mention of Qui-Gon at all in the Original Trilogy is a lame duck maneuver. It feels like they were shoe-horning in a brand new character for the sake of it.
And the Gungans and Maul had to be ret-conned into being important via the Clone Wars cartoon.
@Forgottenlore makes a perfectly valid point about characters not appearing later: they should be important, but they aren't important enough to even warrant mentioning in the OT.
Want to make Naboo more useful, and thereby TPM more relevant? Change all instances of "Gungan" to "Bothan" and all of a sudden, TPM is incredibly more tragic.
