N-1 Naboo Starfighter for X-Wing

so I played 3 games last night, TIE Swarm (X6) and A-Wings (X4).

and I proxied the version 3 in the above post, I must say it was really good.

it helped both squad push damage which is something they lack.

naturally I rolled all my crits when I was on side 2. But mostly the first shot striped a token and then second got 1 damage in.

I could even remove the 2attack dice limit.

With the ion token; I can’t see any reason to have it limited.

3+ attack ships will be getting 4 at r1 anyway so I doubt they would take it.

@Odanan I really like the idea of a modification secondary weapon, but not as a fix for ships with 2 primary. A fix for weak primaries should buff just weak primaries, not try to replace them with a secondary that other ships can use too. You also seem really attached to the ion token as a cost for using the upgrade. It’s a fair trade for a double-tap, but I still disagree with any cost that could be fatal for the ships the card is designed to help.

Two more positives to adding the N1 to the game.

1) More astromechs, which means potential buffs to xwings and ewings.

2) More torpedoes. Harpoon and Cruise Missiles have kind of stolen the thunder from torps. Their biggest use now is EM.

I think a modified J-type 327 would be a nice option too

J-type 327 Naboo Security Patrol Ship, basically would work like a high grade sensor craft, high defense, no attack command vessel. Something that could coordinate attacks of all the ships in its surroundings I feel would be a unique addition, especially considering the Naboo after the Trade Fed invasion and Clone Wars, have taken higher degrees to safeguard their population.

Different ship, different thread please. I don’t know what source you got some of your ideas from. According to Shattered Empire, Palpatine diasarmed Naboo after the Clone Wars.

Let’s give the N-1 the first torpedo that doesn’t have to pay a cost. (Seismic doesn’t count, it’s not an attack.)

New Cannon, Leia even says it in Battlefront II, * I Hate using it as a source* that Naboo prepared in case of a new invasion

my testing is going up against current meta squads to see if it brings 2 dice ships inline.

Reason; the ion draw back got me murdered; bombers (as in bomb droppers) love nothing more than seeing a half a TIE swarm doing a one forward. (Can’t fire all ships rapid fire on same turn as you just get out manoeuvred).

i will say setting up a nice kill box is fun; while 3 do a 1-forward and other 3 do a k-flip.

Up side it worked great, at boosting r3 attakes, was easy to mince ships and make tham limp away to regen (Poe, hard for him to get out of so many arcs)

Caveat, she prepared in very subtle ways. Like the Ion Pulse.

Have to Give it A go off top of my head I say no. But am playing on Tuesday so will give it another bash.

will be the pilots with abilities that break it, if so.

possibely Bossk? But have to try. When new upgrades come out I try and make jank combos so I’ll try do that.

They are not, but they could be somehow... cool and playable with that upgrade! FFG can´t let this happen!

It wouldn't and isn't meta, but this is interesting as another way to possibly make hwks usable.

I never even thought about the hawk.

Yes, an upgrade that depends on firing arc would be amazing on the HWK, with its incomperable dial and repositioning options.

Fair enough, but at least it would have a cheap better attack.

I can imagine on a hawk you would as take a cheap cannon for those out of arc shots, this upgrade would be a nice to have,
