Second set of HYW?

By Sam Gamgee, in Battlelore

I have often paused in the board game aisle and asked myself if I should fork out some $$$ on a second set of Hundred Years War. It's my favourite expansion, but all the extra stuff wouldn't work with the CtA deployment and I'd have to design custom scenarioes to use it. Does anyone else have 2 sets of HYW? Any thoughts for or against?

Though I have 2 of everything for Memoir 44, I decided 1 is enough with BattleLore.

But a 2nd set is compatible with CtA. Both sides can call the same specialists. The issue is most of your set will not be used at any given time givening the impression that you wasted a lot of money.

But if you want to design more scenarios that utilize all of these figures, go for it! My only word of caution is that the 100 Year War series *might* pick back up with different units. I only say this because it was called 100Y/W "Crossbows and Polearms" implying their may be more weapon types introduced. So if these come out, there may be less of a need to double up on expansions.

Hey Coltsfan - you've basically hit my dilemna on the head. Not really worth it if I'm only going to use them as more specialists, extra work for me if I'm going to build a bunch of scenarios. Thanks for the help - I'll keep deliberating, and maybe hope for a sale at my FLGS.

If you're just looking for extra figures, maybe check out eBay. I've seen four packs of figs for sale (auction).

Just a thought.

I would wait for the race specific CTA decks (I'm guessing there will be a human camp set of cards that incoperates the 100YW and the SW knights)

Man I am so tempted to develope race CTA decks along with a conquest system. I wish I had more published games then just www.4kids.tv/bigbigbattles . I would tottaly take something like this on.
