With Tramp as GM? Why doesn't he just write a fan fiction screenplay instead? I'm new to RPGs, but is this normal?

How long is a session? Will the other players be interrupting something? Will there be smooth jazz playing in the background? Does the ship have a shower? Will the other Characters have to swab the deck afterwards?

No it's not normal. Most start with all the characters together.

As for the session, I am the Game Master but Tramp is running the scenes with his two characters. He has a surprise about Rey.

What might be a good idea then is to run Tramps intro along side yours and Matt's. Will you two want to start out together or separate?

I had a surprise about Vader in my Master character's backstory but Tramp heavily vetoed it. Im cool with connections with movie characters as long as it doesn't change the established canon. Since the next movie isn't out yet I'd say it's going to be tricky for anything related to Rey.

Both of my characters don't know each other and don't even have to interact with each other. My Master character is a lone wolf assassin, not interested in taking a pupil at all. My starting character doesn't care about becoming a Jedi, he just wants to hit it big in show business.

So how do they meet, each other or the rest of the group?

Tramp wants to start with just him and his Apprentice for the first session then will add in more players individually, as Korath finds them. He should have the In Character post started with his intro and will craft some armor. After that he has a scene set up to introduce his Apprentice. Once he's done with this session, the other player will join in.

Actually, it's him finding whoever, be it an apprentice or other Master level character. My starting character will not be my apprentice. This is in effect for everyone, no one's starting character can be apprenticed to their own Master character.

I'd like each person's first post in the first session establishing where they are, and what they're doing at the start to establish the scene, then Killer will decide who gets picked up first. so, I won't be "running" anything, just role-playing my opening scenes, but not one after the other.

That's up to you to handle. :D

Once tramp has made that IC post go ahead ahead post about your characters. I'll start working on ways for each of you meet then.

The threads are made (with an opening crawl). Start your posts with the OOC thread, then I'll start off my personal post in the IC thread to get use started in character.

Question for everyone before we really get started, how do you want to handle rolling for Destiny at the start? do you want to roll for each character or each player ?

I'd like my starting character to have a Wampa sidekick asap so if he can't start with one then maybe the group could run into one at some point. And my character could tame it instead of the beast getting killed. I have to finish building my character, but I'm not sure how to get him powerful enough to tame a Wampa right out of the gate. But without the Wampa it would be like Master-Blaster minus Blaster, incomplete.

My lone-wolf master character is just passing through, looking to bring retribution to the wicked. He doesn't do relationships. He is already avenging too many people as is.

My characters fight the first order for fun. That's where I'm at at the beginning. BTW destiny per character

I need this explained to me. I don't have a clue what this means or the implications of either choice. My characters are completely separate so I'd guess "destiny per character" but I still want to make an informed decision.

Destiny per player. Not per character. 1 force dice roll.

Maybe that could be your opening scene? Taming a Wampa so it's your NPC friend you take with you.

OK, that should work, but which character's Force dice should we use then?

1Force DIE as per rules.

Sounds like only Matt is familiar with the destiny points, he is the only player currently that has played F&D and PBP. I would recommend rereading through the Core Rules Book to understand the Destiny Point system clearly.

This is one of the reasons why I didn't want to GM. :P

I just made my destiney roll. Mycal'el needs to reroll. Once that's done, I'll decide what Korath is doing in the OOC thread, and make my rolls, then post in the IC thread once that's resolved.

Why would you post in OOC?

That's where the dice rolling and "Game mechanics stuff" goes on in all of the PBPs I've been reading. Then they post in the IC threads the "in character" role-playing. Matt could correct me if I'm wrong here.

What dice are you rolling?

That's not what I prefer but it's your game Tramp, I'm just the GM currently.

Ok, the game ha begun. Who's next?
