I said to hell with it- TO LUSTRIA!

By HiveMind2, in WFRP Gamemasters

I have ran my guys and gal through all sorts of mini adventures to get them used to the game(it can be a bit much the first time around). I am an avid lizardmen player in the tabletop game- so they wanted a big journey- I gave them one. They were all arrested in different parts of their worlds, and a pirate was going around breaking prisions around the areas looking for a friend of his. He broke out all the PCs and a few NPCs and pressganged them on his ship, promised them gold and such if they followed him. Since they were already out to sea, they didn't have much choice. Why not? A copule of knot tying lessons and rum drinking contests later, they are caught in a huge storm. This storm , of course destroys the ship, wounds everyone that doesn't just straight out die, and maroons our heroes (aand a few NPCs)on a weird island of death. They learn the basics: don't touch that kind of flower, watch out for these animals, and don't drink the water from some "redshirt" demonstartions. Our heroes hook up with some amazon women that they help fight off some local dino probems. Meet up with a visiting "Yoda" skink mage priest. They explain that they just want to go home. The priest (who can really only communicate with the wizard through some magic speak) says that they have to go to the High elves port on the other side- good luck! Luckily (wink wink) Dark elf radiers have been stealing precious things from the Lizzies and our heros help fight them off and help the saurus find out how the Dark Elves are getting in so easily...old abandoned Skaven tunnels. The Lizardmen decide that maybe these humans and elves might not be so bad, so they let them hang around for a while and take in their culture. This was the first adventure...so far so good. I have to say I enjoyed making up the stats for all the Lizardmen, it was fun.

That sounds awesome! I was thinking of where to take my group after we do some of the usual Old World adventures and had thought about Lustria, too.

Yeah it is good times- I could have done more in the coventional areas- but all of us play WF so much and have read so many of the stories that I wanted it to be a little surprising, yet no to much like a Jurassic park rip off- hahah. In the next part they are going to find that Slannesh deamons gave the secret skaven paths to the Dark elves and the DE are trying to find certain relics to help increase the Deamons stability in Lustria. They are going to find a fallen Slannesh Greater Deamon that is pinned down to a temple crypt by an ancient artifact. The lizzies are going to try and stop them from freeing the Greater D, because when they(the party) see the Greater D, they see it as whatever they care about most. They are going to want to free this thing real bad, meanwhile the lizardmen and damonettes are going to be fighting all around them the whole time. Kroq-gar and his boys will be holding the line against the Dark Elves. So while all this war is going on the characters are going to have to try and fight the temptations of the lord of pleasure...haha. It could be cool or it could go bad real quickly.

Lustria's got a ton of potential, especially with the vampries on the east coast..old lizardmen, etc. Should feel a lot more like D&D though as there will be a lot more diverisity likely in the things PC's may encounter. You may take the lead from the following:

1. The CONAN mmo

2. D&D in the jungle scenarios

3. Earthdawn game

etc.
