New Careers with Full Colour Art

By Heretek2, in WFRP House Rules

Ok I made a bunch of stuff usuing The Strange eons program with Hurlanc's wonderful plug-in. These are only rough outlines and as I have time i willl improve on the images and career stats. I'm going to post some here so that the Stange eon's plug in thread does not get derailed. Please post your own Careers here as well (Would be awesome if it has good art as well) My photoshop skills are sub-par but I'm getting better... Anyone with great skills should help (nudge..lol) I've been usuing B/W art pilled from old GW books, 2nd edition career compendium and the net, I fins a black and white image works pretty well. Anyway I will post new ones every few days please feel free to coment and talk about the career stats as well and suggest talents for the new careers..

Will be away till friday so no more updates till the weekend, hope to see other stuff as well!!!

Nice work =) Good to see your progress.

Very nice work! Really well done and professional looking.

This is some impressive stuff. There is definitely a gap between the combat careers and the social careers. The warrior-priest should have a rider, must have completed initiate and have the faith of Sigmar or Ulric. Aside from that however, it is desperately needed for any would be priest of Sigmar. Definitely should have been in the box.

I'm curious as whether this was done manual or through a program. I would be very much obliged to learn to make these myself.

Thanks and good work,

I'm using Photoshop CS4 to colour the images... these images are not my work and if i could actually find who the artists are I would like to credit them somewhere, but these are for my own personal use made available till I receive a cease and desist letter from Games Workshop..lol. I am still learning how to do it,.. Here is a link with the update of the Warrior Priest image

So I think when I'm done it will all look almost professional quality, it’s time consuming however so I don’t have a time frame as to how long it takes to do, the first half is easy.. Doing the details and cleaning it up takes forever, even the Warrior Priest is only a bit more than half done.. I find images with strong shading works best but I’m learning how to compensate with weaker images. Anyway me an email and we can chat and I will try to write up a short tutorial for you (you will need Photoshop CS3 or CS4 I don’t have a clue how to use any other program)

I notice that most of these are advanced careers but still none has a requirement (something all advanced careers in the base box have) while I can quess some (Warrior priest must complete a religious career, knight must complete squire) I don't know what is required to become a duelist or an engineer. Will you add the backgrounds and career abilities? otherwise this is just a half finished job.

To QUOTE myself from my first post "These are only rough outlines and as I have time i willl improve on the images and career stats." so actually they are not even a half finished job..lol. I have plans to expand everything here so if some things like engineer seem cryptic thyats becuase you are only seeing a little of what I wrote up and did. Anyway I'm out of here for a bit, will be away for a few days. Talk to everyone (or anyone next weekend babeo.gif )

Nice work! Kudos!

Do you also create the appropriate career cards?

Very nice!

These will fill a vital gap till FFG comes out with more material.

Very cool stuff here.

Suggestion: Perhaps the Knight should be "Strength, Willpower"? I would think them to be more disciplined and resistant to frightening things as they seek for glory.

shallya has warrior priests as well, the hospitaliers.

However i was thinking they could focus more on conservative stance then reckelss stance, otherwise much the same, any comments ?

Sadley I left my work on a differant pc and was not able to upload the new careers on Friday (looking to get it out on Wensday) here is a preview of some of the art on the new Career cards.. 3 images pulled from Career compendium and a new dwarf from WO to use for a Dragon slayer career. gran_risa.gif , I have some new traits and rules for Advanced characters as well so hopefully I will get this out soon...in the meantime here's some colour art I screwed around in photoshop with to look at.

BEAUTIFUL!

You should upload these to the Hammerzeit site (with the Career play cards) so they don't get buried in these hard-to-find-stuff-in forums.

NICE WORK!!!

Any ideas for the abilities of those careers?

Regarding the Duelist could I make the suggestion to dropping Observation (it's not about spotting your enemy, they should be in plain sight) in favour of Ballistic Skill? They should, after all, be able to perform pistol duels as well as sword duels.

As for an ability, my personal suggestion would be something along the lines of; 'Character may use Agility instead of Strength when determining a hit or parry with a melee weapon but must still use strength for determining damage'.

Then replace Strength with Fellowship in the career stats.

Also lose as much wreckless stance as possible in favour of more conservative stance. Good duelists patiently wait for openings, slowly picking thier opponent apart.

As for the career specific action cards;

Duelists Parry.

Descriptor - Duelist, Fast Weapon

Ability - similar to Advanced Parry but has no strength requirement. (I haven't got the cards available to create actual text). I'd like to see it cause the rattled condition.

Deadly Strike

Descriptor - Duelist, Fast Weapon

Causes less wounds but has a high potential for critical damage, particularly against unarmoured opponents.

A ***** in the armour

Descriptor - Duelist, Fast Weapon

Doesn't do a lot of damage but vastly increases Pierce

Anyway that's my thoughts, hope there's something there to at least give you some pause for thought.

I just bashed this together to show what I mean;

Not sure it should be an advanced career for any reason other then it gets it's own career cards and the ability is quite strong. There is no one career that would lead into it though like the others.

So no ideas for the house ruled careers abilities?

Sorry, I have not been following this thread at all. I've been playing a Dark Heresy game thats been keeping me distracted and I only was able to play a few games of WFRP 3e. Perhaps in the future I will have more time to complete these careers but without playtesting them more I can't decide what the career abilities should be. I might suggest giving the Duelist a career ability that is related to a Dodge/Parry type thingy but thats as far as I ever got into thinking about it. Sorry I could not be more help.
