I'm most interested in Action Cards, need them badly before saturday.

Event started to make Action Card plugin myself, but I have no experience with SE, so I'm learning on the fly, and it goes slow.. too slow.

I will put my alpha version done under Magic Set Editor in a few hours (i'm in the office right now).

This version contain only for the moment the item cards. I'm working on the talent & carrier cards, hope this will be done for the end of the week.

For the location card, I'm not willing to use the standard one : the way they are done, we have to flip the card to see the effect. I'm trying to get another type with some information on it.

here is (at last) the first alpha of my Magic Set Editor cards for Warhammer:

You will need also the Magic Medieval font : www.2-free.net/free-fonts/magic-medieval/35808.html

You can directly convert text to Warhammer symbol font (thanks to froo). To do it, just follow the keywords in the "keywords" section. By example, to a boon, just type . it is really easy to do.

If someone can print an example and compare to the original, my printer is down. It should be quite the same size...I hope.

For the image, please convert JPG/JPEG in PNG on transparent layout. To do it, use GIMP (quite easy to do) or Photoshop.

Currently I have change the font in the textbox to Book Antiqua, but if someone has a better idea, it will be great !

This looks really neat. I need to download and try it out. As for a font... I really like this one: www.searchfreefonts.com/free/caslon-antique.htm It was the font they used in old Warhammer books.

Thats exactly what I needed.

Encountered problems:

- spell icon in the type of action field of card does not show (either missing, or broken)

- requisites field is problematic when you add more text, the font becomes very small and hard to read, would be nice (if possible) to wrap text in this field and make it grow larger in Y axis while more text is put in it (there are actions in the core box, that have 4 lines of text in this field), maybe add dropdown to the height of this field in lines

- would be nice to copy the dice and face symbols reference to conservative and reckless tabs (right now, they are only in common tab)

- duration should be more than 6, there are action cards in the box, that have up to 10 recharge rating, put here 12, and I'll be more than happy

Edit:

Found another problem:

- after removing image, reckess side requisites move down to the line where image ended previously, and the card text doesn't move up

- black dice in difficulty section of the card are barely visible, add a white border around the dice (on image) for better visibility

At first sight, there's one problem. The name of the action card sould be linked to the conservative/reckless tab. I've seen at least one card that has a différent name depending on the side. (It's Formal Diplomacy/Informal Carousing)

uploaded a new version, adding location cards, and correcting some of the issues you pointed.

- spell icon : ok added.

- multiline requisites field : ok

- dice and results tags in every tabs : ok

- duration 7+ : well i need to draw them using gimp, i'm not very proficient with gimp so it'll take a little time

- reckless-side text does not follow their boxes : fixed

- outlined black dice : ok

- different names for conservative/reckless sides : ok

I tried to upload from megaupload, but the link from the first page, still points to previous version.

anyone knows JAVA well ?

in textAreas i use a SE built-in function that replaces tags with pictures :
textCBox.setReplacementForTag("f", "<image res://w3e/templates/dice_Fortune.png 0.07in>");

i'd like to replace these pics with froo's font, but i don't know how to modify my setReplacementForTag second argument. It should be saying to replace <F> with a letter in a particular font, at a particular size, but i'm really stuck with this...

The Arkham Horror modern has a special way of modifying the font of all of Strange Eons to their own font. You may look at that and change it, if that is even remotely what you're asking for?

We've been looking to redo action cards for a while and have tons of ideas of home brews for them and talents and you have made that possible. Thank you so much.

I'm having an issue getting the difficulty working correctly on the reckless side, either the challenge symbol <c> comes out way out of proportion or no modifier show's up at all <m> ????

But just in case it is good to contact them. You should also put some legal text (like in the materials provided by the users of this forum, or Hammerzeit at the bottom of the page) in the zip along with the plugin file.

Oh, and about the file, megaupload gives me the old version (with missing spell icon, one line requisites text, and text on the reckless side not moving up after removing image), same as hammerzeit. The only difference is that megaupload has 2.9 MB file, and hammerzeit 1.59 MB (both old, without fixes).

Where can I find the improved version ??

First off, this is excellent - thanks for your hard work.

One comment on the 'Action cards':

There may be times when the 'Test' may be different for each side of the card. For example, my test card was 'Barter'. I wanted 'Charm vs. Discipline' on the conservative side, and 'Guile vs. Discipline' on the reckless side. Currently, when you set it - it's the same on both sides. This may apply to other fields (though I'm not sure). I'm also not sure if anything can be done about it. It's not that big a deal really.

Great tool, and thanks for the location cards

New bugs I experienced:

1. Red dotted line strikes back (same as with profession at the beginning), when requisites field have more than 2 lines

2. Same as with profession card errors while creating new card (clicking close fixes the problem)

3. Not sure if it is intended (probably because of the back text), or if it matters (need to try and print it yet), location card front is in vertical position but location card back is in horizontal position

This just keeps getting better and better!
