A few I did a while ago. The Rogue Leader one should read 'Alliance X-Wing'.. not sure why it doesn't.
Edit: "take" should read "perform" on Rogue Training. And Rogue Leader could work on defence as well perhaps?
X-wing Title Card Contest
Some things to consider are the pilot abilities:
Radarman5 wouldn't this make hobbie major op? He could potentially remove 3-4 stress per turn if t65s are all flown with this title. And tarn would be crazy op with it too. TL from an attack then 2 others get to TL.
Tom1132 what about Luke with rogue leader? It would basically turn a blank to a focus to a hit. I like the rogue training idea except when r2d2 is on board. You could potentially have no shields, perform a green manuever, get a free evade and shield that turn. I wonder if you reworded it to at the beginning of the combat phase if it would be better.
Mine at the farthest doubles the range, but yours makes a shared target lock from anywhere on the board.
Did you intend for them to have a free target lock action as well or just the range for when they perform their actions?
Basically, I wanted the RecX to have a reason to be separate from it squad mates, but still be capable of focusing fire with them, or function as a decoy, for a bait & switch tactic. The free TL is intended, it somewhat inspired my attani mindlink in that sense.
I'd have liked it to be a duel, where you flip it if your mates are within 3 of you, but there's just not enough room when you stick to FFG's font size and leading. Because I feel a recon ship should be acting as a vanguard, so it's effects should require it to be apart from the others.
I could go into it more by I have work in a few. maybe i'll get into it later tonight.
Edited by Radarman5So would the recon-x really be a targeting ship? Its intent was to collect data, so a more stealthful in and out kind of ship was needed I think. Reading a bit on it, if the ship was going to be captured it had a device to erase data and a needle to kill the pilot. This ship does not want to be in combat and if so wants to get out quick.

I love these upgrades! These would be sweet to field with a T-65! Nicely done.

If you're not using Strange Eons by now you really should be.
I think I tried Strange Eons once but it didn't work. Maybe my mac's OS is too old, that's usually the problem with these kinds of apps. That or I just liked photoshop better.
I'll look into it. I already have my own templates for x-wing cards that let me switch layers on and off easily. Those maneuver reference cards do for vassal only take like 5 minutes or less do create with my template. The Quadjumper and JumpMaster required a little more time to create the different maneuver icons. Finding the art for them that fit's ffg's painted style is the most time consuming part of the process.
I'll look into it.

okay, but did you see the size of your edited cards? you can edit those any which way you want.I'll look into it.

So my mac is too old for strange eons v3, but I was able to instal v2. I checked in the Catalog, but I'm not seeing the x-wing plug in. Do you know if it's v3 only?
Never been able to get card editors to work. When X-Wings close their S-Foils they cannot fire but gain a brief burst of speed.
Modification: Advanced S-Foils: 1pt: X-Wing Only (T-70 deliberately included): Your action bar gains the (SLAM Icon)
Rogue Squadron X-Wing: 0pts: Title: X-Wing Only, Rebel Alliance Only, You may equip two modifications
Several problems are addressed here: durability can be resolved with integrated but Rogue pilots can now have Guidance Chips and Integrated or Vector Thrusters, or Engine Upgrade, since not all Rebel astromechs were integrated. Now honestly, I think with the extra HP and a chance to boost, barrel roll, SLAM, or get more HP the X-Wing now has plenty of cheap options, plus the versatility of the Astromech slot. I have played the T-65 a great deal and honestly it's not THAT bad when flown well. The biggest issue it has is needin more health and movement. Integrated with a regen droid solves 1 of those problems, but having played various X's with maneuvering upgrades they really shine as a half arc dodger, the problem is they need modifications to do this.
Another interesting option would be to help make other X-Wings more like Black One
Title: Unique: X-Wing Only, Rebel Alliance Only. Rogue Leader: 1pt, Your Action bar gains the (Evade Icon). After performing an Evade action you may remove one enemy target lock from a friendly ship at range one. Must be pilot skill 8 or heigher.
Title: X-Wing Only, Rebel Alliance Only, Rogue Squadron: Your action bar gains the (Evade Icon) must be a unique pilot to equip this card.
Yeah no love for the genetics I know, but the Rogues are anything but a generic bunch. These cards both help the X-Wing have some degree of damage mitigation, which they desperatly lack, and would make the joust a far less deadly encounter for them.

Yeah, I already found that post. I didn't see anything that helped. There's no for X-wing entry in my plug-ins catalog, just a bunch of Arkham Horror stuff.

Haven't tested them, but I'm sure the costs could be improved.
Some line of text to the effect of "you can have 2 Titles" would make them play nice together on your Leader.

Doesn't Luke's ability only work on defence?
Yeah, I see what you mean about the timing of Rogue Training with R2-D2. The timing should be at the start of the combat phase and maybe even "if you're not touching an enemy ship".
Good spot!
Just realised that Rogue Training would probably be better off renamed so that thematically, it's a modification to the ship... just to clear up the whole 'you can only have 1 title' general rule.
So "Alliance X-Wing Only. Modification", instead of Title. Though I do like the 'training' part for fluff reasons :L

Here's mine, a Title dual card for T-65.
And a little explanation behind the design process.
First off, I've seen it mentioned a couple times here, that the players did like the idea of micromanaging energy output on their ships in certain series of space combat simulator games. The U-wing double-sided title card has pushed me into putting this "on paper", as it's proved that the developers have also been thinking in similar terms.
The text on the cards is pretty straightforward, but also very specific in couple points. First off, there's no "once per turn" limit.
For the "Armament" part that doesn't change much, as X-wings generally only tend to attack once per turn. It does however make Snap Shot very powerful on them, and that's the part of design. For regular attacks, note that defender gets to modify the his green dice after the attacker, so it can only cancel a naturally rolled Evade result. This is, again, meant to be - this way it doesn't just become permanent Crack Shot.
As for the "Deflectors", note that it can trigger multiple times per phase with relative ease, but isn't remotely as strong as having a free Evade against single attack. First off, the modify dice step makes the defender act first, so it will only work on naturally rolled enemy Hits. Not Focus/Blank results that could be later changed or re-rolled nor on Critical Hits, either.
And to answer the final question - isn't it TOO strong? No. The Defenders have set the joust dice-trading bar so high it's absurd. But Biggs, what about Biggs, you say... well, deal with it, he ain't Soontir Fel either. One thing that I've found really tasteless about this game is how the motto says: Take control of powerful Rebel X-wings , but they're nowhere near powerful, in fact they're a sad neglected waste product of the powercreep that would slip into the void along Khizxsxzsxz if not for 1 or 2 pilot abilities.
I strongly wish that would change, but at the same time realize that there's 8 named pilots already, and all hope for new T-65 pack lies with tie-in pack for the upcoming Rogue One movie. Whether that'll happen or not is anyone's guess, but for now - share your opinions on my entry.
Edited by Mef82I've seen people suggest something like the new U-Wing Title card.
A Dual Sided card for S-Foils. Attack bonus when open and an Agility/Movement bonus when closed?
Takes an Action to Flip the Card.
No. Flapping X Wings is silly.
Here's my idea, probably been done before, but I like it:

Either "T-70 X-wing" or "X-wing" which is both.
I do see a TIE fighter in the second one. Come on people how many times does it to be said? they will be rejected.
Edited by gabe69velasquezThere is technically no T-65 X-wing in the game.
Either "T-70 X-wing" or "X-wing" which is both.
So these were meant to be used with any ship in the game or are we just supposed to go by pictures now?

Gee, in a thread about X Wing fixes, which ships do you think the card would be used with?
Nothing in this thread is approaching a final product. It's all prototype only, so maybe lighten up a little?
EDIT: Card edited. I couldn't find where to add restrictions to the smaller, italicised text on the card so I just added it to the body of the text. Hopefully that meets your lordships approval.
Edited by ChucknuckleI was hoping that the cards could add some interesting buff to the very predictable 4k turn but also let you get out of combat and later re-engage from another angle or just get a good position before entering range of the enemy.
Everyone keeps posting great T-65, Rogue Squadron, as well as other fantastic titles for X-wings. But I would like to stop searching for the perfect title and see the best that you can come up with! In this contest, I would like people to post their ideas for Rebel Alliance (T-65) X-wing titles in card (not text) format. At the end of the month, I will post a Google Form and let everyone vote for which card they think is the best. Please try and make cards simple by using the "Rebel Alliance Only" header and no "you may not equip this card if you action bar has boost" or "you may not equip this on a ship with the tech icon. Thank you and may the best card win!
It's a pity almost no one is heeding your instructions.
I would edit your first post so that your requirements are in list form at the bottom.
Or post a card there which illustrates your requirements.
It's going to be a long three weeks for you if you have to keep repeating it.
Also are you going to disqualify/ignore all entries that don't follow your requirements?

gabe69velasquez is right. I'm ignoring all entries that are not in card for with my requirements. And if there's only 3 cards in the contest, so be it. I can't create my own cards because I'm on a chromebook.
Rogue Leader: unique 1 point. Xwing only Rebel Alliance only
After executing a maneuver, you may perform a free target lock action. You may not equip this card if your pilot skill is 6 or lower.
Rogue Squadron: 0 points. Xwing only
At the start of the combat phase, you may acquire a target lock on the ship that is Target Locked by Rogue Leader.
