There are human drop pods though they cannot match the speed of entry displayed by those used by Astartes. This is because their occupants would be... well mulched by the forces involved. To compensate they drop slower using directional thrusters similar to the ones we can see today on say the Mars rovers, and by placing those inside in so called grav-tanks that somewhat negate the inertia involved in a drop pod assault.

Note there is a technology called "grav couches" which sounds oddly comfy, takes up a lot of space, but allows a normal human to use a fast insert drop pod. The couches are only assumed to take up a lot of room because the pod has the exact same carrying capacity for guardsmen in flak armor as Marines in power armor.
