2016 Worlds Results

Bossk is awesome.

I feel that Bossk is easily the scariest ship out there right now. There are weaknesses, but he can deliver terrifying levels of damage.

Bossk is scary if he gets to do his thing. I feel like if you have enough zoom and hp to tank a shot coming in you can get behind him and just punish him forever (a carefully flown lancer comes to mind).

Obviously that's what the wingman is for but it seems doable still.

Another option too is just pump him full of dice (brobots or similar). You're going to eat a lot of damage from him but assuming you aren't a fragile ace he's only got 12 hp and 1 agi so push damage hard and you could win the trade.

Except this build can take out a bot before it shoots with the tiniest bit of luck.

Dallas Parker was just beaten by 186th Squadron member, Nicholas Yun (Mindlink Fenn, Roo and Scyk), by only 6 points.

Jesper Hills (also 186th, and former UK champion) also won 100-0 with Mindlink Fenn, Roo and Palob

Got details on either list?

Fenn / Roo / Palob can be very good, I was flying and talking about that a few weeks ago. I'm surprised he isn't running Fenn / Assaj / Roo.

Fenn Assaj Roo would be so naked.. How do you spend the few points you have?

A polish gentleman was discussing it on the most recent S&V podcast forum post here, after I commented about Fenn/Palob/Manaroo.

It's very light:

Fenn + ML + title + AT

Assaj + ML + Latts

Manaroo + ML

I'll continue to monitor this thread and pull in updates periodically for squads as they come in. I'll start pulling in player records as well if we know them.

Too early to tell, but Attani Mindlink might be the breakout upgrade of Worlds 2016. Not saying it's going to win, but the sheer amount of people playing it should give it some good attention.

2 ships with 3 attack dice dealing 8 damage through 3 agility with focus and evade seems pretty lucky even with bossk schenanigans.

lol 27 palp & pals

surprising nobody :P

twin caster is bizarre. I mean, the ship's cool but my god is it flaccid offensively

you need to be real **** confident in your skills if you think you'll always play around the dice dicking you over

I don't find ptl Asajj to be very flaccid with dengar riding shotgun, and if you can pull off the miracle of consistently triggering ketsu's pilot ability you could certainly chew through some people.

That said, I also find the list weird because dengar is a unique crew and ketsu's ability is very finicky to trigger.

Seeing someone else use palp&pals makes me soooo happy.

it's only 3 dice, at the end of the day

3 dice fully modified has ceased to be impressive ever since palp came out :(

3 dice with juke/crackshot is better, but for 50 points I'm too used to IG-88B fully modified 4-dice WITH "gunner" and crackshot

so, relatively speaking, quite flaccid. overcooked pasta (chef boyardee) levels

naturally, the whole point of the caster is the mobile arc and the pilot abilities (which are control orientated save sabine's drug habit encouraging ability) but that's why 2 of them can feel very wimpy

But I think you're missing the point, the lancer packs either a punch (3-4 fully modified dice on a big arc) or control and slicers for the things that don't care about the attack dice. Combined with the brilliant dial a well upgraded and flown shadowcaster is a terror on the board.

I'm not missing the point

the point is, relatively speaking, they're not that scary ito dice

the whole point of my post was to say that 3 dice primary fully modified are no longer "a punch'

hence, the other strengths of the caster (which I listed)

but crutching on them with two casters is odd to me. I've tried it; couldn't handle how they kept bouncing off of freaking green dice (what a surprise)

More surprising to this newb is Palp Aces is only roughly 40% of Imp players. And with only a max of 5 TIE swarm players that means at least half of Imperials are playing something other than swarm or Palp aces.

if the rest is just a bunch of SFs and they end up winning worlds, I will have a good chuckle

I would assume almost all of the remaining imperial squads still include Palpatine, /x7 or autothrusters upgrades though.

Do we know total number of players for each faction? I know we have %, but not sure if we have a total number of players to work off of that. 47 players with at least 1 defender I'm guessing is a large percentage of imperial players. A lot of those probably overlap with the 26 palp aces players. Might be some palp decimators too.

can't say I'm a worlds player, but god knows every imperial list I bother playing has an x7 in it

can't abide by that green dice happy faction unless one evade is guaranteed :P

after that, though, sky's the limit ito partners

SFs and bombers mostly, for me, specifically Backdraft and "Deathfire"

hope we see at least some of deathfire floating around, the little guy deserves it

Well, there's Ketsu ability that can crush any ship she will ram. At PS9.

You need to be really good (hey, you're at worlds!) but she is terriying

Any small ship* :P . She can help others kill large ships, but doesn't get to shoot em herself if she rams. I do love me some ketsu though. x7s, dengar, soontir, pretty much none of the defensive ships like having their agility dropped before you start shooting at them, and REALLY don't like having it dropped AGAIN if ketsu hits em (and since I run her alongside latts to make them another -1 agility, she usually hits).

I can add him to the OP, thanks. Does he have any notable achievements like Regionals wins etc?

He was second in UK Nats this year

I'm pumped to see so many Mindlink squads.
