Delve Suggestions

By ilmyryn1, in Road to Legend

First of all, I love the new delve format! I do have a few suggestions though.

I organized all my store cards alphabetically for the campaigns so that when I shop I can find them quickly. The delve makes that difficult to use though because it wants me to randomly pick 5 myself from the deck. Related to that is that the delve tracks what XP you spend and uses one of my precious save slots, but does not keep track of loot. If the app just presented 5 items and let you pick which ones you want it would solve both those problems.

I have also wondered why there is not a rules reference in the app yet. Finding out the effects of overgrowth requires I look in the 8 different rule books I have to carry around (or have PDFs of), why can't there be a rules reference in the app of all the terrain types and their effects?

Thanks for the great app though, it's one of the best board games I own now!

The new rules do exist. (FFG page, RTL pdf, page 13)

But yes, I agree all terrain and door variants should be included in the pdf. It's just copy and paste anyway and would be really convenient.

I'd also prefer if the app would keep track of the loot.

What I also would like to see:

1) A personal hall of fame. Keeps track of the delves you've beaten or lost. Number of turns, Loot, Hero composition, win/or loss could be included. Maybe exportable if memory is an issue? Shouldn't be though.

2) Recently my playgroup and I decided to split a delve into 2 part. We played until after the first boss and exited then. Bad thing: when you load the game, you don't see the monster and hero placement again. I think the saving point should be before hero and monster placement, not afterwards.

Even if you keep your cards sorted alphabetically for campaings wouldn't you run into the same situation with randomly picking cards as in The Delve? The rules for a campaign state, "After each quest, the heroes visit the shop to see what it has in stock. Shuffle the Shop Item cards and reveal five Shop Item cards". The only time you get to look through all the cards and choose in a campaign is after the end of Act I.

Edit: I totally spaced on the difference between playing a campaign in the app and with an overlord, so obviously the above section about drawing and reshuffling doesn't apply. Sorry about that.

Having said that, I too have mine ordered alphabetically. This is my solution: I keep the cards in a notebook stored in Ultra Pro Mini American pockets, which fit sleeved minis. I then use the RandomOrg app on my phone, in which I made an Act I and Act II list by copying and pasting the names of all the cards into a list for their respective Act (this takes no time at all if you own all the expansions, but would take a bit longer if you need to figure out which cards you own as opposed to just pasting a list of all shop cards that exist into the app). I just tap the randomize button and choose the first 5, or in the case of the app however many it says to draw.

The lists on the app do scroll allowing you to see all the cards if for some reason you needed to see more than the 6 it shows.
