I also like Innsmouth a lot; the board is very challenging, tho, and comes with a game-related problem: there are no Mythos card attacking the main board, so, in a game with only Innsmouth and Arkham, there's no way gate bursts can endanger the seals on the main board, so, metagaming is definitely possible (Gregor, I know you know, I was just explaining to the guy asking about expansions). If I had to start with Innsmouth, I'd still play core, with the addition of Personal Story cards from IH to "fix" a few characters (see Dexter, or Monterey)
