Nobleman's Villa - a new, test location card

By guest296273, in WFRP House Rules

Hi Guys!

Recently played first session and fell in love with WFRP3 . There are many things I like, but range sysem and location cards are my favourite. So, I decided to play with the las and cmae up with this. Inspiration came to me with "Spires of Altdorf", which detailed city's buildings in manner of evetual combat, sneak in etc. As I love things, that make combat different, I created a special location card: Nobleman's Villa. Hop you will like it, comments are perfectly welcome.

Card was created with Strange Eons software, that enables making new cards for Arkham Horror Boardgame. While I'm not specialist, I did not change layout, only insertend contents (rules) and art, which I borrowed from this site: matthewhutchinson.com.

So here it is, my first card:

WFRP3 - Nobelman's Villa Location card

Best regards,

Very cool but it seems more like a couple of locations.

The kitchen (like the location in the Ghost of Mondsville) etc.

I think it may work better as "an uber card" with the generic (simple) facts of the general area (this could also be "forest card", "swamp card", "mines card" and then cards that "add" to that for specific areas (rooms etc.).

Taht's sounds coola and it crossed my mind, but on the other hand I do not want to create to many cards (empty bathroom, slippery bathroom, slippery and steamed bathroom and so on...). But, it is thing for consideration. Still, I'm going to make some cards and presnet you here :)

The "Uber Card" does sound neat. Except I already need a bigger table.....and a bigger house with bigger rooms , to put the bigger table in enfadado.gif

I like it... but the Master's Quarters seems to impose excessive consequences, some of which (like calling that guards) should be left to the GM and gold item damage should perhaps be reflected by chaos stars instead of being automatic. But a very awesome card and a very good idea. I like the idea of breaking areas down into sub-areas like that. I'm pretty likely to print this up and slip it in a sleeve.

Nice work.

Very nice design.

Fantastic!

I like the idea of an Ubercard to describe a location as a general. As valvorik said there could be several smaller 'rooms' within that would require a slightly different modifier.

So I got to thinking why not put something akin to Talent / Reputation slots onto the card to represent locations / rooms within.

I just wish I had the skill to produce an example as artistic.

Taking your kind words and advices under consideration, I created set of four location cards, describing an Nobleman's Villa in a city. Below you will find an Uber-Card, as you were kind to call it, and three area cards that are attached to it. I imagine rules on "Uber-card" are affecting all area cards, while rule on area cards affect only those characters, who are in area.

To our dear administrators: I alow myself to paste those pictres into a post, hoping I'm not violating any rules and don't test your patience.

Best regards

So, here we go, first is an Uber card

And finally Master's Chamber

Good design! This kind of stuff keeps making the game more interesting and always gives new ideas for scenarios! As I have mostly given up of planing scenarios ahead (no matter how I plan them players ruin them the second they "step in" - and I have to admit I kinda like that!) these locations cards give nice touches to a lot of possible encounters.
